My son has a nitro hawk that is eating brakes up every hour or so. Is this normal ?
Any suggestions are appreciated

It shouldn't be using the brakes that hard.
The linkage on this model can be tricky. Make sure when it is at idle, the brakes aren't against the bell. It should be set up so that when it idles, the brake should slightly touching the bell. And that eny given reverse motion of the the servo applies the brakes.
The best way to adjust it is using a small hex wrench and slide the set collars to the right positions.
Hope this helps,

somthing else i found works well in the brakes department on hawks, is get a thin peice of leather, cut a strip to fit on the brake band, then CA it to the band. when i did it, i think there was some sort of chemical reaction to the leather or somthin because it got pretty hot, but after that i always had good brakes, even when the band got wet. it also means you can s**** the leather off with an exacto or somthin and put a new "pad" on rather than buying new bands.
