As a 4tec owner I can tell you that might be overkill. The standard vxl, a high kv rated motor and 3s pack will be more than enough to smoke any rusty/bandit out there.....That is if you can keep it on the ground because of how lightweight it is.

It would be useless in such a light vehicle. It would be soo much torque it just sit there and do donuts. The RPM will still be too low to get any quick speed runs. And base on the can design you'll be extremely limited to gearing. And the weight of the system will just kill the cars agility(even in a straight). Get a high end ESC like a Tekin RS Pro for the timing boost and turbo and a low turn motor and a 3s lipo and you'll high 80+ like nothing.

You only need a big block motor mount (http://www.tenbol.com/productpictures/tenbol_mm_01.png)

Have a look at this MERV (http://i47.tinypic.com/29zqwwn.jpg)

From the Marked Place
MERV Fully modded w/ Mamba Monster (http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=531660)

With 3500kv VXL

so it would bee better to go with the pro esc then the 1/8 scale ones yes i can see that

i guess deep down inside i want it to bee like the 1 8 erbe power sys but on a 1/16 platform for speed runs (it seems it saves money in my head to do it that way) and then wut would be the best esc for speed runs (mmp) ?

I think a tenbol mount with a 5700kv 540 motor would probably be faster. There's not enough weight in these cars to justify that big a motor.

And not to mention the LGC it should stay on the ground with the 540!

the monster max and motor is really a high torque setup. it won't be fast, but when you consider that on 6 cells is roughly equal to 3 horsepowers... well, that's a lot of power. it could either mean wicked tyre spins, = balder tyres. or damaged drive shafts, if the motor is forced to try and move the car with the wheels stuck.

i would be more than happy to have a go :)

A car like this it would just spin the tires. Most 540 2.5-4.5t(sensored and depending on manufactures specs) puts over 1horsepower at 7.2volts. A 3s lipo with a 2.5t geared tall will be faster(and lighter) then a 1/8th setup. Also you'll need to use some seriously power batteries for the 1/8th system.

And not to mention the LGC it should stay on the ground with the 540! This car will have a higher LCG then a 1/10th TC. What will help more then anything is a aerodynamic body. Downforce is your friend for TC, not weight.

wut would be the best esc for speed runs Honesty(not fanboying either) the Tekin RS Pro. It's alot smaller(easier to moutn on the chassis) and by specs more powerful(208amps per phase or 624amps max current). Plus the ability to solder different caps and wires makes it very easy to get the setup you exactly want. The RS Pro has been known to handle up to a 5s lipo with a external BEC but that will void warranty.

Coulda just said you agreed....sheesh NOPE!!

^ the tekin rs pro: smaller than the mamba monster max, or the mamba max pro?

The Tekin Rs Pro is probably the smallest ESc on the market. It's about the size of the MMP fan.

My Mtroniks G2 ESC is only 50.0mm x 27.0mm x 23.0mm
But it's limited to 4s and max 3000kv
only thing you absolutely can not do ...is mount it on a plastic chassis
It needs an alloy chassis to help dissipate the heat

Since it sounds like you are trying to make this thing go Marty McFly fast I strongly suggest installing a gyro to keep it tracking straight.

ok only slighty bigger. But it can do 6s lipo and run on a plastic chassis lol :p .
