hey guys i need some one that might know how to mod a clutch bell for taller gearing. i know a couple years ago revonitro on here put a 21tm in his jato and made or modded custom clutch bells for taller gearing. right now I'm stuck with 20/38 revo gearing. i wanna go up to a 22 or 23 tooth clutch bell, but 20 is all i can find. so if anyone has the parts and a how too to make your own or mod a c/b with the tooth count I'm looking all the info be great. can i need it to work for a 3.3 motor.

Start off with this for taller gearing if your engine can handle that then I will point you in the direction for the CB. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMWJ1&P=7

thanks Jclay, see the problem is the motor wont slide back that far. there a 38 on it now and i have a 36 but it wont slide back cause of the motor mounts, i done tried to grind a spot in tranny case so it whould go back more but all i did was make a hole lol and it still didnt work, so had to replace tranny cases. i have a Axial Racing Vented 22T bell, but i cant get it ot work with 3.3 fly wheel and clutchs, plus the shaft on 3.3 is way short for that bell. if you got some other options for bigger clutch bell please let me know so i can get them ordered. ifi go up on clutch bell the 36 and 34 spur will work then.

Yes of course I didn't think of that. Umm well I do remember when I had my .21TM I had 20/36 gearing on the stock chassis. 34T will require some modification to the transmission case, as what I had to do to get it to work.
I am curious to what speeds are you getting with the 20/36 combo. My 3.3 had a hard time pulling 40/20.

well right now its 20/38, and to day i clicked off 68.0 68.1 and 68.5 on the stock tires, with the jaco foams 63 was my best. i need a taller gearing for them as with the foams it revs out fast, and the stock tires ballon at speed makeing it seem like there a taller tire.
so what clutch bells can you point me too that are bigger than 20 and will work on 3.3

Anything better than a 20T will require a an SG shaft, or some type of modding to make it fit. There are clutchbells that has 26T such as an Losi. http://cgi.ebay.com/Losi-High-Speed-Clutch-Bell-19-26T-LST-LST2-AFT-/400144407360?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d2a771b40

well update i got the 36 spur to mesh up with the c/b, took the motor mount screws out and replaced them with button heads screws, and it went like butter. about to go out and run it see how it does., so what you think of the speeds im getting right now so far?

Silver,,, I'm not ignoring your pm... I just haven't had time to sit down and gather part numbers and explanation of how to put 1/8 c/b and flywheel on the 3.3... You can make this work with the stock motor mount and stock tranny case.. I will post it up asap..

YUP!!!! Ive done about 100 times. I was foaming at mouth waiting on HOT to release thier hardend steel gears.LOL. I was really tired of getting a limited number of hits on those darn plastic gears. MONEY well spent.
