View Full Version : transmitter steering wheel sticking

I have a problem with my transmitter steering wheel.
The steering wheel won't go back to top dead center after making a turn. This problem is intermittent and doesn't always happen. It happens most often when I make a small correction and let go of the wheel; it sometimes goes back to TDC and other times it doesn't. any idea of how to fix this?? I've never opened the case so I'm not sure of what to expect.
ive had the same problem, did you tryed to take the faomy thing off the wheel ?
that solved it for me it was pressed on the transmitter blocking it from turning back to the middle.
I had exact same problem.
What I didn't realize was that foam on steering was pushed in.
So I pulled it out to proper position and place a drop of glue to hold in place.
Not only that... steering wheel itself seems to have a problem... like you can push in like a button and it'll click and won't pop back out and stay stuck.

I have an older Traxxas transmitter that did the same thing. I would turn right and about 70% of the time it would stick. Normally at the worst possible time, like run into a mailbox or curb. I finally got mad and took the thing apart. It is really a very simple mechanism. I used a little dry lube on the springs that pull the wheel back to center, worked the lube in and have been good to go since. My thinking is it's no good as it is, so nothing is lost. Again it is an AM transmitter and they are dirt cheap now. Good Luck
