New. You never know what happened to the MA or how they were run, what they were run in, etc.

I would never buy used LiPo's. I constantly shocked at how little people know about handling them. I bought a used slash and the owner shipped a SMC lipo with it. I pulled it out of the box and it was smashed on one corner and bent almost in half. I e-mailed the seller and asked why he shipped it. He said "don't worry i've been using it like that for a couple months".. I tried to educate him but I doubt it sunk in.....

I had a similar choice to make...2 ******* 5000mah 4s 40c lipos for $160 or 4 - Hyperion 4200mak 5s 35c lipos (used from a buddy of mine) for $50 each. I went with the Hyperions for the main reason I know he takes great care of all his stuff...especially the lipos. If it was someone I didn't know, I would never even think about buying used.

At first, it sounded real good...then i did the math and that will output 145amps...CC recommends 150Amps for the MMM. Dang......

CC is very conservative with their recommendation. 145a is very capable to sustaining the stock Monster Mamba and 2200kv motor. The ESC is only rated at 120a sustained itself.

By the way, there is only 3.3% difference between 150amps and 145amps.

I agree, never buy used Lipos. It's like buy used underwear, you never know where it's been.

Actually I don't buy used underwear because I know exactly where they've been:lol:

I bought second hand lipos but only from friends or people I know or trust. From someone on Ebay or similar......NO WAY!!!!!!

My friends and I often swap, trade and sell our lipos to each other but we all have a good solid understanding of what we are doing with them. Sadly that can not be said for most people out there as john01374 has pointed out.

Buy new and sleep easy. Hobby King warranty isn't the fastest warranty service out there but it is better than nothing at all from someone you have no reason to trust.
