okay, well i found out i have to pay $75 to insure my Slash to send it to Traxxas and I really dont have that kind of money right now. My girlfriends nephew had an old Traxxas Rustler that he used maybe once or twice and he gave us it for spare parts. I tested the motor tonight and it works perfectly. would I have any problems if i transplanted the motors? would it possibly even be faster or be nearly the same. it states its a Stinger 20-turn. This will pretty much start off my modding of RC cars. i really wanna get my slash back on the road as soon as possible because i love it.

Stinger 20T is an old model that is very strong. The worst thing that could happen is that you kill it and you fry your ESC. So my suggestion would be: if that's only your motor that you have problems with, write it down to Traxxas, they will most probably send you a replacement for free, otherwise go get one new from LHS which will cost you around 20-25$. Why kill a motor, or even worse dump your VXL?

I would hate to do even more damage. I just sent traxxas an e-mail if its possible to just send over a new Titan and I can replace it myself. It shouldnt be to hard to a noob like me. Everybodys gotta start somewhere lol Thank you so much to everbody who helps noobcakes like me on the forum

Yea its equiped with an XL5. I guess I can give it a few runs to test it out. Hopefully Traxxas can send me back a replacement Titan

Is it just your titan motor thats bad in your slash? Seems really odd that they would suggest you send back the whole truck. The motor takes about 10 minutes to change and pretty much anyone can do it. Also, if you plan to continue to run the titan in your slash, youd better get used to taking it out as youll need to clean and lube it after every run. Make sure you break the new one in properly as well or youll be right back where you are now in no time. Why not get that rustler up and running though. 2 trucks are better than one.

yea man, i thought about that. the rustler is pretty much just the chassis without wheels and without a battery. Its kinda old but I can upgrade it and build it with new parts along the way. and yea its just the motor that isnt working. steering servo works fine. i requested them to send a replacement motor and im just waiting on a reply from them

that motor will will but it will most deffinatly will be slower than the titan. but it will work
you should save yourself now, buy brushless. its inital cost is high but by the time you replace 40 titan motors cuz they suck, it will have paid for itself :)

Well I certainly plan for Brushless in the near future, but for now I'll stick with the titan because I love the speed it runs at, and i dont have the cash for VXL right now. When I do get the brushless I can install the Titan on to my Rustler and i'll have killer fun.
+1 for all canadian RCer's
