View Full Version : Boost Bottle/Chamber

Is there a company that makes a boost chamber or bottle that will work on the trx pro .15? Or is putting a bost bottle designed for a .12 on the trx pro .15 going to hurt it?
Boost bottles on small block engines have very little if any affect at all on small block engines.
The only real benefit with a boost bottle is found on .21 engines particularly on an offroad chassis.
I've installed boost bottles on a CVEC and an OFNA Force 12. It didn't hurt anything but it didn't do anything else either. The engine ran the same. The only difference was that it had a piece of fuel line and a pretty little bottle attached to it.
Seriously though, I really don't think that the little .12 and .15 engines produce the kind of problems that the boost chamber was originally designed to overcome. It does look cool though.
BTW for anyone that may think the boost bottle actually "boosts" the HP of the engine, it doesn't. All the boost bottle does is provide an extra place for the crankcase pressure to go. The reason that the pressure nipple is under the carb is to smooth out the airflow through the venturi of the carb for smoother response. That's why you see them on all of the top 1/8 scale (Offroad)drivers cars and not on the top 1/10 scale drivers cars. The 1/8 (Onroad) drivers don't even use them.
