What ballpark run times would I get with a 2s 20c 5000mah or 2s 20c 8000mah LiPo? Just wondering because I heard that the 4x4 chews through batterries faster than it's 2wd counterpart.

Depends on waht you're doing, traction, etc.

From experience I can tell you that my 25c 5000mah tenergy battery will run almost 30 minutes on a groomed indoor track, closer to 20 minutes outdoors...loose dirt, higher speeds, etc. Bashing on pavement over 30 easily.

^^^^ agreed, i have 20c 2s 5000mAh lipo's and they last 20-30 depending on my driving, i just finished a pack on my track i've been working on which is dirt but packed pretty well and i got about 25 laps out of it, lap times are about a minute or so each.

WoW you guys are getting some pretty crappy run times!

Okay Ive done my own experimenting

on my 4x4 with stock VXL and stock gears and 1/8 buggy wheel & tire conversion these are my results

- Integy 2s lipo 4200mah 30c hardcase, Im getting ( 3 ) 15min heats at our track

- Blue 2s lipo 5000mah 20c soft case, Im getting ( 5 ) 15min heats

Im a pretty conservative driver though, and we only have one straight at our track and I cant even get all the way up to top speed! so that may be why as well cuz we really cant nail the throttle!

and our track is pretty compact! dirt really isnt loose at all!

next Sunday im trying out my New batch of Turnegy 2s 30c 5000mah hard case lipos!

i do alot of full throttling because i have crappy stock tires.. so probably why my run times are lower then you might expect.

dude, i got an spc 8000 pack and there is no 1.5 hours, not even close maybe 45 mins, and that would be driving it fairly easy, maybe if you turn the truck on and let the fans spin and not run the truck you might get 1.5 hours( just kidding) and i think that 20-30mins on a 5000 pack is reasonable, depending how you drive, cant complain about that, i remember the old days wher you would get like 5-7mins with ni-cads lol

I think there are a few people in this thread that need to take their ESC out of training mode......

i timed it i was amaized but everyone drives differently i rarely go full throttle on my pack. 1/2 trigger pulled i dont do high speed runs or bashing i just train on control in turrings for when it comes to racing. but i do know this the time i raced on this pack it lasted for 3 10 minute heats and then a finals which was 15 minutes and i came in 3rd with it. and after that day i took my car out and ran it for about 20 or so more minutes till the pack finally went into protection mode and had to recharge it. another thing is my 3s 6250 venom pack last a good 50 minutes or so. spc just might not be a good brand of battery. all brand lipos are not made the same so if they use cheap cells then u get a cheep battery.

Yes the 4x4 will chew through a battery faster than a 2WD.. its got twice the gear to shift and move :D

One can not compare what they get on a track racing over what one would get bashing in the field..

If your running it full speed all day long bashing your going to kill the batter much faster compared to someone on a track where they spend much of there time braking and coasting around corners and such.

Yeah i can run the stock 4x4 body! I did a tad of trimming you couldnt tell if you a glance at it! But I let my son have the body!

Im mostly running proline bodys now! they are very very durable!

And the Wheels I run are AKA white dish Wheels!

I can get some pics as soon as I find my camera!
