View Full Version : Yet Another Battery Question

Ok- So I have been going completely lipo, but have a few questions to those that have been using lipos for some time.
I have a 5000mah 50c pair and have the opportunity to buy 2500mah 15c for $13 each. will these work well in my E-maxx brushless? I know they wont last too long but will the 15c be enough to have some good old fun with?
Thanks for the input.

Short answer - NO!
You'll likely blow the batteries up, or worse kill the ESC, or both.
Those 2500mah batteries are good for 37.5amps continuous. That's pip squeak power :)
Your 5000mah batteries are good for 250 amps continuous. If those specs are true, then there is absolutely no comparison between the two.
Although, those specs do seem too good to be true.
And BTW, $13 each for that battery is not very good of a deal anyway. I've seen many a "deal" on ebay that is cheaper than that, and even on *********.com is cheaper than that for batteries that gutless :)

thanks for the input. If you are interested in the packs I have you can get them at ultimate hobbies in orange ca. They are actually 5200mah 50c continuous and 100c max. they were $149 each there. I am sure you can find them cheaper but they have been very helpful in the past so sometime I don't mind the price. They also upgraded the lipo pacs I was looking at to 2600mah and 35c instead of the 2500 15c.
