I have a stock Brushed mini E-Revo, and I am using the included 1,100 mah battery. I also purchased a 1,600 mah battery to have as an extra. I also bought the $30 Prophet Sport charger to charge my batteries (which I do at 1 amp, and takes approx. 1.5 hours). Without upgrading my stock parts or charger, what battery will give me the most run time? I'm ok with the current speed I'm getting.

The higher the mAh rating on the battery the longer it will last. So the 1600 mAh battery will last a little longer. For NiMH batteries, since the cells are so small the most power they put out that i have seen is the 1600 mAh by Venom. Lipo's will give more runtime (because of the higher mAh rating they can produce) and more power and go for about the same price as a NiMH battery that fits this truck. The charger is the expensive part.
The charger is the expensive part.
that's not necessarily true, my acucel-6 was around 30 bucks and does the job just fine. many full featured lipo chargers can be found in the 50 dollar range.
actually purchased right some lipos and a charger can be cheaper than buying a nimh set up.

So, I'm only looking at upgrading to Lipo and a charger that does Lipo and not having to do any upgrading on my car (i.e. gears, motor, etc.)?
nah, you'd be fine with stock gearing unless you start running 3s, batteries in a series, or having heat issues.
2s 2200 lipo batteries in parallel will give you about 40 minutes of straight runtime.
search the forum for the ********* ***** lipos and a good charger for them.

He has the brushed, not vxl. So yes he can run a lipo, but he does not have lipo cut off.
oi. i didn't even see that even tho it was in blue. meh.

So a lipo battery and a lipo charger, and I'm ready to run? Of course, I'd pick up a splitter if I'm going to run two batteries at a time.

And you need an lvc since yours is a brushed truck. The brushed esc cannot handle series batteries either, and does not have lipo capability built in. You need an external lvc.

you should read up on lipos 1st. They are great batterys. But there r some things u should know about them!!!!

I think it may be best that I stick with my Nimh's for a while....maybe bump up to running two 1,600's at the same time. I should be able to get around 20 minutes runtime (or maybe a bit more) with two 1,600's don't you think?

Why not do the traxxas power up program to go brushless?

I have the brushed mini slash. And I get maybe 15/20 min out of 1 1600s. Make sure your motor does not need to be cleaned. Look for anythink that could be binding up. Check you gear mesh. My brushed motor is getting to hot. I am gona gear down alil. Which will help in run time.

Am I correct in saying that running two 1,600 mah batteries at one time doubles the run time of one 1,600 mah battery?

try the 1300mah Orion 8.4 NIMH packs , $35 and they are a big improvement over the stock Powercells .

IF you run the batteries in PARALLEL configuration. THis doubles the mAh rating. Runnning in series doubles the voltage output to the motor but retains about the same runtime as one battery (depending on driving).

By yourself another matching nimh battery and a parallel connector and run it in parallel for longer run times no changes needed for your brushed revo. Ignore the series thats for the vxl.
