What battery are you using?
Brushless motors tend to COG (glitch and shudder) when they are not getting the voltage they need to operate correctly. is your battery old? How much voltage does it have right off the charger? Does it work better righ off the charger then start to cog a few minutes into the run?

When the vehicle gets about 20 30 feet away i have got to wait until it gets in a 15 feet range of me. Ive been using venom 5000 8.4 and 7.2 that are brand new all cells are operating too.

That's is not a motor problem but a problem with the radio or receiver. If thing you should do is make sure the Receiver is as far from the ESC and motor as you can get them.
If that doesn't work check your crystals. There is a chance there is something wrong with the radio or receiver.

Nice tips i'll try that and see if that does the trick! THANKS!
Also try to set the "start power" setting so that it cogs less. I had a cogging problem with that system until I set it.

So lower the power of my take off?

Are you running an FM radio by any chance? My buddy had a ton of problems with a Tekin ESC when he had an FM radio; he moved to a cheap DSM radio and poof the problem went away.
I also had some problems with my fm 27mhz xp3d. Switched the module to 75mhz and no range issues.

I Am running a traxxas tq and that is a am radio

Sounds like a Radio issue. I run a Sidewinder ESC with VXL motor and 8.4V 5000mah batteries also and I have no glitching at all

What kind of radio are you running?

Yeah, not FM, I meant crystal rasio. Airtronics has a nice 2.4GHz radio and receiver for around $100 with tons of tuning options on top of the better radio performance; you might want to check that out. I don't know if they always offer this, but a couple of months ago my LHS said they'd take my stock Traxxas crystal radio and receiver in trade and sell me the Traxxas 2.4GHz setup for $60; I bought the Airtronics because I like the radio better but $60 for a DSM setup is a pretty good deal that you might want to check into

THat is the airtronics MX-Sport that is the radio that I want!!

unscrew your antenna tube and remove it and the lug. More than likely your antenna is broken right at the base of the antenna tube or at the receiver box. I have two receiver boxes sitting on my work bench with 1 inch antenna's because people are to lazy to resoldier them.
That is about the correct distance for an issue like that.
You can either spend $1 on new wire or get a new receiver of the bay for like $12.

I had the same issue with my mamba max 6900 combo. First they r power hungry but a good six cell should b enough to get good speed even with the traxxas 3500. Atleast my slash is with 83 23 gearing.
Second flip ur reciever crustal around. Third try twisting motor wires a d esc wires. Fourth get a capasitor or whatever they r called cause ur electronics pull some juice and can cogg and lose range.
Fifth and most important retry running ur reciever wire and find a new location for it and try keeping it away from every other wire.
If all this fails then try a new reciever and controller. Fm and 2.4 ghz r the best 4 brushless anyway.
