View Full Version : 11.something V lipos
Hi guys,I've seen loads of 11.2v lipos on the bay, could I use 2 on the summit? Its standard at the moment(broke) but I've seen 5000mah 11.2V(I think ) going cheap,so I was going to scrut about for the cash for the batts.I think this could be 1 for hughes 500 bob, lol. If I can't use 2 lipos ,what about an 11.2V and a smaller lipo? I use a 7 cell and a 6 cell nimh combo already without any problems,I just keep electronic knowledge in my brain,I've tried for years, could be something to do with being colour blind:lol:

The most you can run on a stock summits ESC and motor is 4S(two 2S in series). If you run two 3S(11.1v) in series(6S 22.2v) you ESC will flip out and go in thermal protection or not even turn on. If you want to run 6S you need something like a MMM like I run.

Two 3S and you will thermal. A 2S on the BEC side and a 3S on the other might be interesting. Both "should" to be about the same mAh rating. Monitor the BEC side pack for LVC.
Yeah 6 cell NiMH and 7 cell NiMH will work no issues .... but lipos are another story.
I'm always up for experimenting as long as I am also up for paying the "Stupid Tax" when things go wrong. LOL
