I have two stock summits and the brakes are terrible for going down inclines. I was wondering if anybody has figured out how to get the brakes to work. While going down steep inclines, I want to be able to lock up all four tires... Ideas?

Brake system from a Revo 3.3. Not sure how you would control it though unless you only want it to run freely or lock completely.

upgrade to a brushless setup you will be able to adjust settings on the esc and set your drag brake ...the traxxas esc's are non adjustable and are pre set from factory

I have a MMM and I don't drag brake normally but it does work. I have my braking set so high that if I hit it on high traction surfaces the truck will front flip, much better then the TRX RSC and the flexibility means I can do what I want.

+1

Low gear, and not touching the throttle in either direction, and the truck creeps.

I don't want to put a brushless setup in the vehicle. I enjoy crawling at extremely slow speeds. Also, I'm not looking for drag brakes, I'm looking for brakes. I will give a lower gear a shot, that sounds promising. Thanks for the tips guys.

I would think there would be brushed speed controllers out there that would work with the Summit it give you a lot more adjustability.

Apparently the Tekin RX8 is capable of rock crawling. I guess it's a sensorless vs sensored deal. I'll have to look into it more.
