Is it possible, or can the MMM setup only run 2x 3s batts. So basically, does being capable of running 6s mean 2x 6s batts or 2x 3s batts for a total of 6s. In a nutshell, is it running it in series or parallel?

you can run 2x2S and 2x3S in serie or 18 nimh maximun

So the Y-Harness is already in series?

I know someone has to know this,
Edit: Woops! I meant to put EMBE in the title :D

as long as you're using a parallel adapter, you should be fine. it's still gonna be 6S, just double the mah of the one pack. here's a link for an explanation on how to wire it:

I used 2 6s 3300 mah batts in parallel for my high speed runs. Works good! Problems is finding 6s batts that will fit in your stock chassis.

Well, I am talking about the 3908 version.
The MMM comes with two plugs stock on the EMBE, so I guess I can only run two 3s.
Actually it's a lot cheaper! :D

Ok, just thought of another question.
Since the new E-Maxx comes with the two connectors, I can run two 3s lipos... would that be 6s?

yep. running two 3s in series is the way to go :D

So on the new maxx, it's like it's running it in a series.
2x 3s lipos = 6s?
Someone clear this up

2 X 3s in series = 6S
2 x 6S in parallel = 6S

2 X 3s in series = 6S
2 x 6S in parallel = 6S
I know that.
But with the E-Maxx 3908 version, with the two connectors coming from the esc, and 2x 3s batteries installed onto the connector do the two 3s lipo's combine to equal 6s? Or are the two connectors wired in parallel and with 2x 3s batteries it remain at 3s but double the mAh?

I can't be more clearer.

The ESC is setup for SERIES. Yes they equal out to be 6's. The monster ESC handles 25 volts max. However you could run more packs if you used parallel connectors.

Thank you very much.
All I needed.

I believe the stock connector is series so you add the voltage of your two batteries together but not the capacity(mah). If you want to run parallel you would need a parallel harness(made by traxxas & others) and a jumper for the unused esc battery connector. I may be wrong- if so I'm sure AOD will clear it up.

YES You can convert the stock MMM series wired harness into a single or parallel packs.

PM me for assistance if required.

Finding TWO 6S lipos of sufficient capacity that would fit the trays is probably a near impossible task!

At least my aching question is answered by this thread. I was hoping that the esc was wired in parallel on the 3908 from the factory. I GUESS i can't run 2 4S lipo batteries unless I cut the stock harness and create my own parallel harness or am I Not understanding this properly ? I thought 2 2S batteries was Just 2S but doubling my runtime. Help me out to learn if I'm onto this correctly or not so I don't burn stuff up, thanks ! !

Two 2S 5000 mAh packs in SERIES is 4S 5000 mAh = double the voltage / same run time.

Two 2S 5000 mAH packs in PARALLEL is 2S 10,000 mAh = double the run time / same volatge.

Series = plus to minus to plus to minus (like a mag light flashlight)

Parallel = plus to plus / minus to minus

ALSO, doesn't only one side of the ESC have LVC? so you would have to find the lead with LVC and use that side then jumper the other, right?

EDIT>>> Sorry, this would be if you have the new 3908 with twin lead MMM but you want to use only one 6S LiPo. That means it is the opposite of what you are trying to do here.

You are correct and that would be what is commonly referred to as the bec side.
Totally incorrect.

The MMM doesnt have a BEC side, nor does it have an LVC side- it only has one positive battery wire and one negative; it comes with a harness to run 2 batteries in series with the traxxas EMBE & ERBE- that doesnt affect the BEC or LVC.

The novak evx2 and hvmaxx have a BEC side, later model hvmaxx/ hvpro escs have a built in 4s LVC.

How can someone who's been a member here for 6 years not know even the basics? It really scares me...

I am SuicideNeil; that name should mean something to most people hopefully ;)

I didnt mean to be rude, but I often see people offering 'advice' which is totally wrong or even dangerous, clearly they dont know the facts and are just posting whatever pops into their heads without thinking or researching the answer before hand.

I hope you make a recovery soon, or find some nicer painkillers that work better for you so you can get out there and use your trucks more often

( this is the internet, try not to take everything to heart too much, or get offended if someone makes a scornful remark about something you've posted- /b/ is everywhere... :D )
