Hi. I've had an E-Revo VXL for a bit. Now looking for something bigger.
What do you think would be better? Slash 4X4 Brushless or ERBE?
No racing, just regular bashing.
ERBE is a few hundred $$ more than the Slash. It seems like the Slash can do everything needed, no?
Thanks.

When it comes to pricey batteries,, The ERBE takes two of everything. So double your Battery shopping budget.

i was in this debate, and chose the 4x4 because of the price.

It really boils down to what you want. Do you want a Monster Truck? I have the ERBE, but am getting a Slash 4x4 . I plan on yard bashing the Slash, but for construction sight type stuff, a MT is the best way to go. I think of the Slash 4x4 doing the same things as the Slash 4x2, only better.

The ERBE uses 1/8 motor/esc so you will require really good batteries x 2 to be able to supply enough power for it.

Just sold my ERBE and have 2 slash 4x4's on order. One to race stock and one to get the MT conversion. 30 series Badlands and JConcepts Gladiator body.

Approx a $300 price difference on the kits. Plus, the additional batteries for the ERBE. Is the ERBE $400 better than the Slash?

Is the ERBE $400 better than the Slash? That depends on what you want to do. What do you want to do?

the slash 4x4.
The slash uses 1 battery. only need a single charger (e-revo u can use a single but twice as long for batt to charge), beter runtime for mah, cheaper upgrade parts and cheaper tires.

If I could only have one it would be an 1/8 scale MT. The Slash 4x4 would be a nice step up from the MERV but, if you can comfortably afford the ERBE DO IT!
My BB T is almost 5yrs old and I'm still in love with it, my brushless 3905 is going on 2yrs old and it rocks also. There is no way I would trade them for something smaller.

Thanks guys. Seems like, for the money, Slash is my best bet.

I have a mini slash and a brushless revo and love both, but I am looking forward to getting a 4x Slash!
I think the 4x Slash will see more runs than the other trucks
I now have 8 30c 2s packs, 2 30c 3s packs, and 4 12c packs... that's an all days worth of runs and more without charging!

I am in the same boat with just getting a used e-revo and have a slash, I think the 4x4 is what I need for versatility and speed.

I'm going with the 4x4 slash and building it to be an MT. I have a Rustler VXL that I love but want something that will jump better and take on grass and a little rougher terrain better. Plus I already have the batts from my rusty I can run in this slash and other parts that can go back and forth. It just made moe sence then buying a true MT. I had a Nitro Revo and Savage. They where great but put a dent in the wallet when they broke... My buddies call me crash.... That says enough... LOL

I'm looking at the Slash 4x4 to replace my pair of converted HPI Nitro MT's.
I plan to do an MT make over on it also with a set of Masher 2k's, I just dont see it being able to replace my brushless 3905 Maxx. I'm pretty sure it will be more capable than the HPI's

For Bashing the ERBE is one of the toughest trucks out there. I can and do jump it off my roof of my house 20+ feet and land in the street. So far in about a year I have broke bulkheads and axles but these days not much. It took a while to get used to 6s. Now most anything that breaks is beacuse I am doing speed runs in Excess of 80+ MPH and when you cannot stop or a tire gives out @85Mph things are going to break.
Also have a 2wd slash and a MMM and 2650 it is actually very tough but if I hit something fast I have a pile of parts, And as far as the jumps with the revo I would not even attempt them with the slash, Not enough suspension travel. The ERBE with long travel rockers has 120mm of travel, The slash I am not sure.

If your pockets are full, then get yourself the ERBE because you'll need about $1000 for the truck, lipos and a charger.

but you could sell the vxl to offset the slash's price.
