Well I would have never spent $500 on a toy for myself, so the wife did it for me! Talk about a happy birthday!
This is my 2nd traxxas, the first being a Rustler that I upgraded to VXL. So I already have a speedster. Otherwise I would probably have wanted a E-Revo BL. Now I feel like gettin' dirty:D .
So anyway I got 7-cell 4600 packs to start with and won't be able to run tomorrow cause work takes me away from home 30 hours at a time, What should I know or read or research while I'm chompin' at the bit, counting the seconds waiting to get home?
Please point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

One more thing... Is it normal for the new tires to be so out of balance? The wheels are spot on but there is a LOT of deformation in the rubber.

I do not know what your are talking about ?
There is nothing wrong with the tires on "MY SUPER SUMMIT"

My tires seem perfectly balanced to me.

Nasty, that was a weak post but your truck does look nice.
Lesta, my tires are pretty funky as well but doesn't seem to hinder it in anyway...

The stock tires are very imbalanced. I think it's because the foams are not installed properly (pinched or bunched up inside the tire). I've noticed with use they do seem to smooth out though (at least mine did). Probably due to the foams settling into their proper positions.

Do you realize you have posted this pic 6 times in 9 days? You have a nice truck and are understandably proud of it, but overexposure is not usually a good thing.

Keep an eye on the wheel nuts and check them often for tightness. MANY of us have had steering servo failures. Re-adjust them per the manual steering set-up instructions so they are not fighting each other.
How you turn your vehicle OFF has differing opinions. Some use the ESC button to turn off, and some of us (myself included) un-plug the packs to turn off. No real hard evidence here and it may have something to do with the date of manufacture of the EVX-2.
Great knowledge base here on the forum for help!!
I'm sure you will love your Summit .... especially with Winter approaching.

the stock wheels suck, mine totally warped, i think it is from jumping, the revolvers i put on are alot stronger as are the axial oversize i checked out.
put it this way, the stock wheels on the inside(side closest to truck) can be deformed and squished with a easy pinch of the fingers, neither the revolvers or the axial can be squished at all without major force. if you look at the inside mounting bead on the geode's it looks like a flat, non ribbed piece of plastic, and if you try to squish it, it feels the same. I actually think the tires are pretty decent for crawling but terrible for bashing.
while your at the store get an extra bumper/mount set. you will break the bumper mount eventually.
The Summit is awesome, you'll love it, we all do.

lol. Enough of the pics and super summit thing Nasty, tone down the ego.
The stock tires, as i noticed, are out of balance. They wobble at speed (thats why i bought moabs), and are slightly flat spotted and deformed. One way to keep that from happening is to set your summit on a car stand while you dont drive it, so that the trucks weight doesnt sit on one spot of the tires. I havent had problems with the stock wheels warping but they do sit loose on the hubs.

Well, I got to go out with her, Excuse me, HIM today. Im sure the people driving by were wondering who the idiot with an ear to ear grin was. I found a culvert with water and rip-rap and had a blast. Sorry to say no video because I screwed up the taping on my cellphone camera. So much fun to be had! If it didn't weigh a TON I would take it with me to work.
I did find a way to use my 7-cell hump packs but it involved a bungee cord and wasn't very pretty:o . Oh well, any port in a storm.
Later.

I'm new to the forum and maybe that's why...but if it wasn't for Nasty posting pics of his truck I would have missed out and bought something else. Until I saw his truck pic (which is what us noobs need to see), I was going to buy an Emaxx. Nothing wrong with an Emaxx but when I saw his Summit, that was it. He also took the time to post all his mods and even pm'd me with answers to my questions. All I'm saying is you guys know this stuff and are used to it but for us newbs, we need more than just words. Please don't think I'm trying to start anything here, just giving a different perspective.
I still think that Summit of his is the wayyy coolest of all the ones I've seen.
Look forward to learning more from all you pros!
