Here is a email I sent to RRP

"Do yo offer a larger spur gear with the slipper built in for the brushless Revo, I would be looking for a spur with 54 teeth. *I have your slipper backer plate and would like the same strength on the other side, the small cast clutch puck holder bends easily

thanks"

"Hello,
We are working on that part now.
About two weeks out still
RRP"

What are you doing to it??? I have never had that problem, only HEAT will disfigure that thing or tightening the slipper too hard!!! Don't ever run a steel spur, unless you feel like rebuilding the transmission, the spur is the weak link, and if it strips, wow, it's $3.00, I have a draw full of spur gears, but have never needed them.

how many weak links do we need on these trucks on the drive line? Axles, drive shafts, clutch and spur gear??

My clutch heated up once and messed up that little thing

HI!... I've been gradually getting rid of all the E-REVO's weak links. I broke the axles, replaced them with steel, I broke the drive shafts, I replaced them with steel. I broke the stock "A" arms, I replaced them with RPM ones. I kept destroying slipper clutches, I replaced it with a slipper "ELIMINATOR". The last thing was wearing out the factory ball bearings in the diffs. I now have replaced those with Ceramic ball bearings. Good to go now! :D

thats what I would like to do but everyone says "no you cant use the CVD's with RPMs" then they say "the stock axles are fine just adjust your slipper" then when you smoke a slipper they say "you had it too loose and if oyu make it too tight you will bend things"

The Revo is a fine machine.. but it has some weak links in it.. my problem is the fact that you cant upgrade anything you want.. all the "people in the know" say it will have negative effects on other parts or the drive line...

but to me the axles dont act like a fuse and just pop if there is too much load on them.. they slowley stretch out then rip out.. so what ever is too hard on the diffs, driveshafts and transmission is getting through at one point.. then after some time the axles pop. and as far as running a steel spur is the transmision not projected by the slipper??? the gears in the transmission are only plastic.. so they are going to give out as the same time as the spur.. I bet most spurs rip out because of too little or too much gear mesh

HI!... The E-REVO's transmission has steel gears in it. The only plastic gear is on the output shaft or CD if your running one.

The flux has a steel spur, transmission gears and dog bone axles.. in fact I think the whole drive train is steel.. and guess what.. its stronger...

And it's a true 1/8 scale truck, and very heavy, and sucks at racing, and accelerates slowly (well, slower than a Revo, heh).

Anyway, steel adds both rotational mass and overall weight, which hurts performance by slowing acceleration, and it can actually cause more damage during a crash or if there is driveline failure.

I mean, it's your truck, do what you want to it...we were just giving you our input, which you asked for. 9 out of 10 people don't break or strip anything, even when bashing crazy hardcore, so that says something about the durability of the stock components...it's all in how you adjust and set things up. The quick way is to just replace everything with steel, but the right way is to learn to adjust everything properly, and not have to spend money on extra parts.

Just my $0.02.

Good luck with all the upgrades, let us know how they work out for you. Give us the $$$ total too. If you can learn how to set a few things up on the truck, all of that heavy steel will really cost you in the long run not just the initial cost of it.

Who is AEM? RPM has the True-Track system.
