Hi. Just picked up a used Jato 3.3. Figured it would go well with my current T-Maxx 3.3 and my new FLM-Maxx that I'm currently building. Its not in the best shape but I got it pretty cheap. Looks like the mods that seem to be the most popular are:

Turnbuckles
Top plate brace
Dual brake
CVD's
RPM bumpers and a-arms

I have a Futaba 3PM FASST. My plan is to get the matching receiver for the Jato with servo upgrades. I haven't gotten the engine started yet, but will keep trying since I haven't even cranked up the RB TM523 that I bought for my FLM-Maxx. If the engine does turn out to be dead, is it worth it to look for the OS .18 or .21. I've read good things about the Picco .26 on the T-maxx side of the world. Not really looking going overboard on an engine. Looking to stay around $250 for engine, header, and exhaust. AND ez-start compatible. Anyone has any experience with the Hot Racing extended chassis?

No experience with the chassis.

The 21tm would be perfect for the jato. It's within your budget, and drops right in. You can also get a .18TZ with the TM crankshaft, backplate, and start shaft, and still be under 250.

I would also add the Golden Horizon Aluminum Brake Cam Lever to the mod list. It's worth every penny.

A good set of tires, depending on your driving style would be a good investment too.

If you don 't race, don't buy a wing for your jato. If you land on the wing hard it will break your differential case and trust me it is not fun to replace.

thx guys.....I've been looking at the 21tm for a little while. I'll check out the brake cam lever also. I do remember seeing that somewhere. I won't be doing any real racing.....Just tormenting my buddy that has a stock Jato 3.3 on the street and in grass. I'll be using my t-maxxes for any real offroad stuff.
