I got a call at work on wednesday from the hospital, my 19 month old broke his femur (leg) bone at day care. He had to be rushed to Macon (a bigger city) for surgery, he's now in a Spica cast for at least 5 weeks. If anyone on here prays, please add us to your list. Here is a picture I took of him, I feel so so bad for him..

Oh, poor little guy. I'll definitely shoot a memo to the Big Man about your little angel.

I'm sorry to hear that :( Thank God he is okay! Younger children heal much faster AND better, so you are blessed.

Oh my gosh! What did he do? Luckily he doesn't appear to be in pain.

I'll surely say some prayers for his fast recovery.

WOW! I hope he is ok! Do you know what happened? My son (almost 4) is in day care and it really makes me wonder. Poor little guy, but what a trooper! Thoughts are with you and your son bud! Take care of that little guy!

Chachi, the story was mixed up at the beginning, but yeah, he was climbing up a baby swing and fell, his foot was caught in the swing, and he was just hanging there.

We get to have the cast taken off tomorrow, I'm so excited.

boomgagem,
He's in my families prayers. I've got some optimistic info for you though.

Unlike adults, children's cells, bines, skin etc are like a young tree, more flexible and much faster at healing. One of my kids feel out of a tree and broke their femer. In a few days crutches were being used. In less than 2 months you would not have known it ever happened....

All the Best

Looks like you might have a little dare devil on your hands. He will be better in no time. Just thinking positive.
But I think this pic would be a good for a card or something. The way he is starring at you and then the blurred out hand. Like he is really thanking you a lot. Awfull seeing a kid like this. It's just the way he is starring at the camera.

He was at daycare and he climbed up on a baby swing and fell.

Thought I would bump it up one more time and let you all know he is doing so much better. He's already running around. he still favors it some, but you can barely tell. I'm so proud of him.

On a bad note, I lost my job staying out with him. I worked in construction, and got a seperation notice in the mail, tough world

You may have lost your job but you still have your boy.... they are worth more than any job.....

Not to worry man, you'll find something that is better and you enjoy doing. Keep the faith... See, your son is already doing better..... Someone upstairs is looking out for you.

Just remember when someone closes a door in front of you God leaves a window open. Just look before you leap. ;)

My cousin when he was about the same age fell down steps and also broke his femur then once he was out of the cast and off the crutches he jumped off a table and broke a growth plate in his knee. i was also surprised how quickly he healed and i haven't noticed any problems with his growth plate.

Also i was playing an ice hockey game and one of my friends went knee to thigh with a player and every one heard his femur snap. worst sound i have ever heard, along with his yell in pain as it happened. he hasn't played hockey since. it happened when we were around 12 years old. Shows how much 10 or so years make a difference in the development of bones in the human body.

Glad to hear that your son is doing well! Hopefully you get an even better job soon because as nitronaught said "someone upstairs is looking out for you." and your family. Goodluck sir.
