Front dif not locking

does the servo move the lock but does not lock or does it not move at all?

the servo is moving. if its moving far enough I don't know

Check to see if the stub axle is broke at the diff...

nothing I see is broken but that wheel moves a lot more freely than the other one.

Spin either of the front tires, the other should spin in the opposite direction...

It doesn't, not like the back does. Does that mean I broke the gear? I hope not, I've had the truck for all of 24 hrs

Sounds like you got a bad #5678. :( Good luck.

Yeah I'm afraid you do, the left front and the right rear are the ones that had some casting problems, pull the axle out of the diff. You'll find the broken stub there. Call Traxxas, they will ship you out the parts and ask for the diff fluid also otherwise drive it until you get the parts.

So far I've been lucky, I have three Summits. Two have a fair amount of run time on them without the diff problem...
