Looking for some input. I have a sidewinder 5700kv but im tired of trying to keep that dam thing cool and losing speed bc of the gearing to keep it cool. Im wonder what motor you guys think i should get the vxl or the mamba 4600kv. Also If i get the vxl can I run 3 cell lipos on my sidewinder? Whats the best setup with my sidewinder?

id go with the vxl motor and sidewinder or mamba max , im running it with the mamba and its great , my friend is also running the 4600kv castle motor in his bandit with the sidewinder and its great , only thing is with the mamba motor you will have less gearing options but more of a top speed , the vxl motor runs cooler and you have more gearing options , more torque, id say go with the vxl motor ....

I would also go with the vxl motor.. should run fine with the sidewinder as long as you keep the gearing in mind..

I'd recommend the MM with a Medusa 3300 motor ... I run SPC 8000mah 3s with runtimes over 60 minutes, 49.5 mph, geared 23/86, motor temps barely over 110 degrees ... this has been a great combination!

Can I run 3 cell lipos on a sidewinder vxl setup?

yeah i believe you should be fine with that setup , you just cant run a 3s with a sidewinder and 5700kv motor i believe.

I second the MM (with a UBEC) and Medusa setup. I run a Medusa 36-50-2200 on 4s 5Ah cells and things stay cool. I get tired of running before the batteries do. :)

I put in a sidewinder motor yesterday and I did notice it ran a lot hotter then the stock titan. I already have it geared as low as possible with the gears I have. The titan barley got hot but the brush broke so I had to replace it. So is it normal for the sidewinder to run hot.
