I'm looking for tips on set up changes to land on all fours. My slash seems to wanna dive face first with most jumps. Any tips?

When approaching a jump keep a little power in reserve and as you hit the end of the ramp just before launching into the wild blue yonder give it that last little bit and it will lift your front end up and should stop you from face planting it all the time. At least it works for 1:1 trucks and quads I have found out. Still really new to this RC stuff but I used to be pretty deep into the quad and dirtbikes when I was a lot younger! Hope this helps you out some.

i have found small bumps about speed bump size makes my slash nose dive too. as for actual jumps... stay on the throttle till all four tires are in the air or at least till your rears are just about to leave the lip. then hit the breaks at some point to level out.

Sierra gives good advice. I'll add this. If the rear of the chassis is slapping the face of the jump, that's an instant endo. You'll hear it "whak" if it's doing that.

thanks I'll try that out.

I agree with Sierra.

Also if you stay on the throttle the energy from the spinning tires should help keep the nose up. Hitting the brakes does the opposite. It about rotational mass etc.

i will work on the throttle timing. Any tips on shock oil or position for racing with 6inch to 3ft jumps?

i run 60 or 70 wt in the rear and 50 wt in the front with a couple spacers in the front to keep the front up gives it good preload and one or two thick spacers in the rear depending on jump 2 for bigger jumps and 1 for smaller jumps...i have an e maxx and next time i go to the track imma take the stiffer e maxx springs and see how they do.

What weight comes with the slash? I was told 30. I've never taken a shock apart is it difficult? And any tips to be sure I do it right?

it is very simple all u do is unscrew the shock cap off the shock you will probably need to use a wrench to get it started and then after that just finish unscrewing it and then dump out all the oil in the shock then put the shock oil in it and that all you need my car handles better on pavement and on dirt if use the right spacers its just all trial and error i got my slash just where i want it just by adding or removing a spacer for on and off road

Kewl, I was thinking of gradually going up in viscosity. The rear isn't to bad, but the front is real soft.
