hi guys

i was wondering what slash motor to get... i was thinking somthing in the 3000-4000kv range. red is a plus, so if anyone knows of a red brushless motor please post it. what speeds have been acheived with the vxl?

thanks

I'm running the MM and Velineon motor and it is a very good and versatile setup.

What's the big deal of the MM ESC over going all VXL?

more tuning options , you can plug it into a computer and mess with all sorts of settings , vxl only has 3 profiles race , sport and training mode no tuning options at all

MM also has far better forward > reverse responce time and it's more powerful.

i agree, i went with sidewinder vxl setup. i love it. i saved about 25 bucks compared to the MM, only reason i did that is because i needed money for replacement parts. sidewinder is a mini MM. my setup is pretty darn powerful...

Kewl, other then response time. What benefit would it have for just messing around and not actually racing?

The response time isn't good for just racing. It makes it far easier to nail your landings while jumping because you can adjust your pitch in the air much better.
