Just wondering if anyone knew what the size difference is.. if they will be able to race each other in a "mini" class is the real question :)

height to the roof looks about the same the ofna mini rear wing is pretty high up, also the hyper has the racing tires stock and those rims give it the off set so if you swap out the erevo the wheel base should be nearly the same. Other than the rear wing the height should be the same so other than being about an 1.5" longer (where is each measured from tip to wing or bumper to bumper?) I see these two trucks in the same class racing on the track ?yes ?no
Thoughts?

I just got off the phone w/ a salesman from nitrohouse and he said these new ofna mini truggies are super hot, they have only had them a week and there is already a class at his local track... pretty sweet. Pretty much everyone is running MM's in them 6900's at this point.. and pretty well indestructible.
I'm out fella's just canceled my pre-order for the erevo mini. I mean wow those new hyper st mini truggies are way too cool and already hopped up w/ all the good stuff even an alum chassis, shocks, cvd's etc for 199 w/o electronics. Traxxas has a nice plan in place w/ these 1/16's and they do look amazing so good luck everyone, maybe I'll see some of you at the track ;) Mine shipped today though... who knows I may be back for more around xmas time :)
PS I'm dropping my old Traxxas velineon in it vxl3 run 3s and gear it up a touch.. should be sweet.. I've been looking for a home for this motor :)

Hmmm. All you need is transmitter, receiver, motor, speed controller, ?servo?... for the OFNA. Sounds like apples and oranges to me anyway.

Much better shots w/ detail... this thing has alum nitro chassis, aluminum big bore style shocks, cvd's... sway bars; it's loaded and wicked durable, they have been running them in heats for a week now and not a single broken part from any one of them... You need to dig a little deeper hehe, this is one awesome mini truggy, it will rule the race track in this class.. unless losi releases something (rumors).+

thats a really nice truck, but i bet the 1/16 e-revo will be able to hold its own against that truck.

Of course it will, it's a nice product! I race my erevo vs truggys and win all the time ;) When it comes down to it, it's all about the driver skills.

8ight-e.......you have to use full size 3s lipos and stuff with the ofna...seems like its gonna be a lot more money in the end. And its also not waterproof/ resistant like the mini revo. Personally im not gonna get a mini for souly racing like you are so i can see why you would want the ofna

well... MM after you seal the USB is pretty much waterpoof.. so yes it is just as water proof.
That said all my current 2s 35c hard shell race packs fit in the battery tray w/ room to spare (turn on side). So I save about 100.00 not having to buy a bunch more lipo's. The only problem I have at this point is I'm not sure if I will be able to fit a tall enough gear on my velineon motor to make this truggy move fast enough (42-45 top). I may have to swap out to a castle 5700kv motor instead.
Thanks

Darn ups 3day select, as in select if they want to show up or not.. blah! Guess I'm waiting until Monday. Thats ok, I ended up going w/ a Medusa 36 x 50mm v2 4800kv motor anyway.. wanted the higher KV, wanted 5mm shafts and wanted something that doesn't heat up under load.. I remember how bad and how hot those mamba's got even in the Rustler! I would have loved to used the Velineon, but at 3500kv on 2s lipo I wouldn't be able to gear it high enough for hte speed I wanted.. 36mph at best.
Looking good though, got my spektrum micro rx today, MM is all cleaned up and ready, Monday I will get the truck and the Medusa motor on Tuesday with any luck I'll have some video by the weekend at the track :)

in a straight line i dont think it will crush it considering you can put 1/10th scale motor and esc in these things and bigger batteries , i guess only time will tell... Looks really good though , thanks for the pic's , how does it run ?

I pre ordered a mini E-revo but i seen how these ofnas are and they are made like small clones of the bigger 1/8th scale models.. They are bigger than a e-revo and everything in them is done after the bigger models so i would have to say it will most likely out perform a mini Revo like how the 1/8 ofna truggies do on the track.
Just look how low everything sits in it whare as in the mini e- revo it's all up high in the air all the components... this is what probably gives it a big edge over the MER.
As you can clearly see here all the components in the MER are much higher up in the chassis.

both trucks are clones of there big brother, so one would assume the results would be Identical. Revo's hold there own in a class they on' belong in and occasionally win. bottom line.

The Hyper Mini is keeping buggy lap times on the track if that tells you anything :) I'm sure the mini e-revo will hold its own w/ a good driver ;) It'll need some decent racing tires and a few tweaks though, but I'm sure it can be done.

Both models are small clones of the original bigger version so that doesn't really say anything as why the ofna would be better. As for the mini ERevo sitting high hmm... one has a pan chassis and the other doesn't. If the mini revo had it's diffs mounted above the chassis it wouldn't sit that high but then again it wouldn't be a MT anymore if that was the case.

I finally had something almost break... after a few weeks of bashing/racing and huge jumping :) One of the top plate screws backed out over the steering and I lost a bearing :( cost me 2 bucks to replace.. hehe My 9yr actually raced w/ it this weekend and had a blast.. she's still learning but getting pretty good.. still runs into a lot of things and does the typical back flips WOT off jumps now and then.. but man it's still kicking :) No little revos to race me yet? Hurry up traxxas!!!

I use locktite on the under the head screw before I screw which helps keep it in place. I know that you should not use locktite on aluminum and this is where I only add it right under the head of the screw to just lock it on top and seems to help with my pan car. Pan cars screws get loose a lot but after using this trick rarely do they get loose.
