Ok can some one school me up up on basic battery care here are some of my questions:
do you completely discharge after every run or just for storage(I have a peak charger)
How hot should the battery get?
Should I use my car to discharge the bat or will that kill the motor?
What is the best doller/power battery going????
Thanks for the lesson in advance.

dont discharge it all the way, whe you run it in your car all the way down thats enough. discharging it might be too much! put a fan on the charger and the battery when you r charging. after you r done running your car, take out the battery and fan it

OK.....This is what I do. For my 1500mah Nicad packs I fully discharge them and then trickle charge them about once every 6 quick charges. For my 3000mah Ni-MH packs I don't discharge them at all, I just peak charge them because you can damage the cells on a Ni-MH pack if you don't discharge them the right way. Dynamite put out a new digital peak charger that charges Nicad and Ni-MH packs that work really well and it costs about $20.00 less that the Duratrax model. As for the battery heat, I always go by when they are warm they are charged. A battery that is to hot to hold is overcharged.

Discharge your battery every 7-8 runs. The power drain from running it in your car is enough for those few runs in between a full discharge. Peak charge the battery every time if you can. Dishcarging the battery every 7-8 runs will still give you plenty of memory on the battery if it is an Nicd battery and it wont damage as quickly. Nimhs just peak charge them with a peak charger for Nimh batteries. No need to discharge them.
