Hey guys,
Well, I pre-ordered a Summit and am looking at switching over to Lipos. My question is , what would a good battery/charger choice be, keeping in mind price. Also, what other things would I need to complete the switch. I'm new to Lipos so any advice/links would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading!

A very poplar charger/balancer combo that is affordable is the Duratrax Onyx 230 and Astro Blinky (the balancer). I bought two Onyx 230 chargers this past summer, and they're great. While I don't have any Li-Po batteries yet, I do know that I will have the ability to charge them when I am ready to make the switch. Many people have used that charger/balancer combo here with great success. Another very popular brand of charger is HyperIon. They're a bit more money, but they have a built in balancer and a few other additional features.
SPC (http://www.spcracing.com/) Li-Po batteries are also very popular and are priced well. I would definitely consider those if I were going to purchase Li-Po battery packs today.

If you stick with the stock ESC you'll also need a LVC (Low Voltage Cutoff) to stop it from draining the cells below the minimum voltage. About $25.

Definately look into the SPC batts whether you go with lipo or not. Their nimh packs are extremely High Quality as well.

I've just read an article about the Onyx 230, given the price and the features, this will be the one I buy when I make the jump to Lipo.
