i just did one thing i said i wasnt goin to do. I sold my maxx and 4-tec. Times got tough round here and had to sell them to get my first car. between working and school had no time for them. all my money goes in my gas tank. but i do still read the magazines and lurk around the forums. Hopefully i will get back into R/C soon. hopefully in a year or two i will be able to afford r/c and my car.

That's probably a higher priority any way.

Meh. They come and go. ^_^

Get another one later. It'll be fun all over again.

I had to sell mine acouple of years ago due to my wife expecting. we ended up with a miscarriage. Now that everything is settled down and the money is better, I am back in the game, got a t-maxx, a e-rusty, and a nitro rusty on the way. When you get your stuff right and times arent so tight, come back and buy some more. It'll all be good in the end!

Getting a real car/license is partly the reason I still drive my SRT and TRX-3 today. I suddenly didn't have money for new things anymore, so for awhile those two cars just stuck, as I went in and out of the hobby, as money came and went. Eventually it became a pride thing, plus I grew attached to those cars, so now they will never leave. I've never been as dedicated to the hobby since then though, and that was 11 years ago.

i loved them r/c's but i had to let them go if i could of kept them i would but you gotta do what you gotta do. but when i get a job and everything settles down i will be back in the hobby still gonna come around here to keep up. hopefully i still will remember what i know now about them and i wont make the mistakes i did when i first started.

Everytime I come back, I can still outdrive almost everyone at the track. My cars are in good enough shape to keep up, but my electronics never are. I really need a serious overhaul to all my batteries/chargers/radios/motors etc. to remain competitive these days.

Keep your priorities straight,
Even though you may have invested a lot of time and $$ in your RC's you sold, you have gained experience in electronics, mechanics, and fundementals that are going to help you even with driving your 1:1 car.

I too was into my RC hobby when I was in my early 20's and in the Navy. However I had some higher priorities (mainly college) so I sold my stuff. I'm now 43 and I got back into RC's 3 years ago. It's amazing what you remember and how quick your driving skills come back...

Sorry to hear your having to get out of RC's for now, but if you really enjoyed it you will be able to get back in it again.

though it is good that most car parts that break arent from me flippin my car over like i did the maxx or running into trees.

although i do have a feeling i will be back just after a feww peices fall into place. but until then just keep reading here and learn from all the info.

Surprise-- my parent let me keep my r/c's and are going to help me with my 1:1 car.
