View Full Version : Visiting Hong Kong

I am in Hong Kong for a few days and I came across a hobby store called GPM Racing Products. They have lots of upgrades for the revo/slayer. Has anyone used their products and what did you think of them?
On a side note I picked up a new OS .21 TM with the revo header for $170. I can't wait to drop her in when I get home.

I have read a few bad comments on these parts. I think I will pass.

Their products are not the best in my experience. You can use your money on other more durable parts instead.
While you're there, take the ferry to Kowloon and do your shopping on that side. Everything is cheaper compared to Hong Kong island itself.

Actually I am in Kowloon. I do most of my shopping in Mongkok. There are several hobby stores at the south end of the ladies market. You have to shop carefully as not to get taken. There are good deals out there (like my .21 for $170).
Thanks for the heads up on GPM. I have read that the aluminum they use is very soft and bends easy.

I do my shopping there too. It's really nice to be able to haggle with the prices for just about anything :).

I went back for more shopping. I bought an entire bearing set for my Slayer. They are supposed to be a higher quality bearing made in Japan. The total for 35 bearings was about $50 US. I plan to put them in with my next teardown/clean.
There is a hobby store that has the pipe with a 'dual' exhaust for the Revo. It is about $40 US. Has anyone used this with the OS .21 TM? It looks pretty cool but I wonder if that is about the extent of it's usefulness.
