The problem is that no street price has been determined (or announced, anyway), so we don't have an answer for the question "how much will it be?" We will have to wait until we get closer to its release date before we find that out.

because it would eliminate the need for LHS. which traxxas supports.

Honestly .. .. .. I would pay $300. because the economy isn't doing so well and face it we all can't afford every thing we WANT. If Traxxas is willing to push the bottom line ^^ I'm willing to see eye to eye. "it is what it is" I've heard this expression at my LHS and I agree in the sense that if the price was lower than their products would be every where because it's affordable.
For what it's worth.
Lets here the cons . . .
lost my links

My LHS will have them for cost so whatever he gets them from traxxas for thats what he'll sell them for. So i should get mine for about 400 bones or so. I bought my slash for 150 bones when it came out so. He told me today that he'll will be getting a shippment of summits around christmas time or around the beginning of january. So i cant wait until he gets them in.

According to my calculations and my knowledge of cost for this truck and the typical markup expect approximately $490.

If people could buy the trucks strait from buytraxxas.com they would be cheaper to. and you wouldnt have to drive 50 miles to a hobby shop to get it.
fhayati
10-25-2008, 09:58 PM
Yep 167 and a 10 % discount that was in the paper. so that would come out to be 150.30 plus tax which is 8.25%. so yes i will get my summit for cost which should be around 400 dollars.

429.00 will still be a good deal. You can hide cash from the irs, but you cant hide inventory. But the reason why he sales them at that prices for cash only is that people would come in there and pay with a credit card and the credit card company would charge him a 30 dollar fee or something like that. So he just lowered all the prices to cost with cash only. But if you pay with a credit card it will be 30 dollars more.

Many shops are selling those cars and this is a hard buisness.
So for me a few bucks difference doesn´t matter. The service and support from the shop is important.

honestly, i dont know how any hobby shop stays in business. there is very little profit margin on cars/trucks. parts have a good margin but 8-10 buck sales is not gonna keep the doors open. retail bites

Its all in the holiday season. When I worked at the LHS We might have 1000 on the til on an off season day. Thanksgiving - Christmas 1000's a day and 10,000's on the weekends. Pays the bills for the whole year.
