Let's Crunch Some Numbers:
E-Revo (without esc&motor)~$325
BL System-$349
2.4 Ghz Radio-$120
All these features come out to about $800. You could probably take 10% off because they all come together in one box, so your looking at about:
$720
That's pretty expensive. But I'd still take it over a Baja. :D

If I had 800 clams to throw around aimlessly, I would have one already. This is one BA truck.

I hope its no where above $550 IMO, I know it's aimed at the more extreme driver but one of the main reasons I am looking to get out of all my nitro's is that Electric has been far cheaper to buy and cheaper to maintain. Fingers crossed that it's less than $550.

Dream on dude. That price would be nice, but Tower already has their price set around $920. I'm sure that will come down some in the future, but not $550 low.

There is no chance its only $100 more than the e-revo. If I had to guess I would say around $700

I can't beleive that its going to be more than my Losi 8T RTR which comes with all the toys too although Nitro.
Anything more than $750 is 1/5 scale gas power cars territory.

the problem is that 1/5 scale gas car can't compete with the speed/torque of a big brushless system. there are plenty of people here who have spent >$1000 upgrading just there 1/10 scale cars/trucks. spending <$1000 for an rtr brushless e-revo w/2.4 GHZ radio, etc. is a very good deal...
(Not that I'd ever be able to afford it!)

I'm into my e-revo for well over $2k.
I'm running the same system they are releasing now (mmm and a neu 2200kv) By the time you buy your charger, batteries etc...it adds up.
and yes, under $1000 for what they are offering...I would gladly pay.
Oh, and for those who are wondering, no, I didnt get ripped off. I got the e-revo preorder for $409. The ESC was 170, the motor was 260, the TR/RX was 209, then all the connectors, batteries, charger/balancer, etc

I just feel that RRP should be feasible in today's market and not crazy over priced as manufacturers get parts very cheap even if it's a brushless motor.
The price of the VXL 1/10 series is so well priced, Traxxas should look at the bulk sales market and not the market that will be saving for quite some time before they can buy one and then the expensive batteries on top.

GM makes the Cavalier and the Corvette. Traxxas at least gives you the option to drive the Corvette with a Cavalier engine (E-Revo = Corvette with Cavalier engine....BL E-Revo = Corvette)
Hobby can only be as expensive as you want it to be

That's more reasonable - Well done Traxxas, I will sell one of my nitros and buy one.
Do we have a release date?

Not that I don't believe you or anyhting, but can I ask where this information is from? I like the sound of it, but I guess I will believe it when I see it!
