They are low profile Panther Kamodo Dragon tires on RPM wheels. I snipped the out side edge knobs off of the front tires to reduce traction roll. They fit under the body perfect and dont look half bad either. I did trim the wheel wells some!! These tires grip amazing! No more wheel spin!! Just punch it and go!! Turning is good too. I replaced the hub carriers with 5334R ( the steel ring ones with a bigger bearing ) and havent had anymore pivot pop-outs  Cant wait to try it with some sway bars..
lmk what you think of the tires/wheels plz
Edit: Forgot to mention, the foams that came with these tires were pretty large for the low profile tires... I took a small saw and cut the foams down about half of what they were originally.

I just want to be honest, I dislike them. But all that matters is if you like them.....I think if you narrowed the rims like in crawling then they would look alot better.

i like, were your traction tests on dirt or pavement? my local track is starting a slayer class along with the already huge slash class.

I don't think it looks bad at all. However it does lose some of the scale look if that matters any. How much of the body did you have to cut? What kind of RPM wheels are those?

RPM Revolvers, available in 14mm or 17mm hex, standard or StableMaxx offset, and in black or chrome:

I use them for track only. For street or bashing around the stock wheels and tires go back on.
I trimmed maybe 1/16th of an inch from the wheel wells... Though not really necessary it made the tires not hit at all.

why does everybody say they dont like it because its "scale" or putting a bunch of trx stickers all over it. i just dont get it cool truck by the way

noah, are the rims you are using the stablemaxx or standard offset? I don't have a slayer yet but have been researching a new set of tires before I get one. I know those stock tires aren't going to have enough bite if I end up getting one.
They are the standard offset. The sablemaxx would be too wide for the slayer.

Thanks much, if I go the slayer route will definately be hooking those wheels up, I just have a feeling the stock tires aren't gonna grip enough. Either that or I'll go with a more aggressive buggy setup on there.. Thanks again.

The rims look amazing man. Good going on the black finish. ;) First pic got me hooked. Just saw all that meat under the body and had to see what other pics you had.

i am purposley runing dang near slicks, ground the stock tires on a bench grinder. This was needed to get the truck to quit rolling over and skate through a turn the way I feel a 4x4 should. It has plenty of forward bite left and still an amazing amount of side bite. This is on dry dusty dirt even. It rolls over less on pavement also. I still retain the stock look and have handling. The center diff did a ton for handling as the truck was a nightmare without it.

You want true grip on the track just run the traxxas 17mm adapters and a set of proline holeshot buggy tires.. you won't know what hit you!

I like the look of the wheels but I am not sure about the tires? I want to keep something that looks scale/right for a real truck. I am looking at some Imex tires that are just like a Mudd Bogger in tread design but they are only availavle in 2.2 Not sure I could mod them to fit the 2.2-3.0 wheels

I'm for anything that makes the wheel stance wider on this thing. I converted to a Monster Mamba and OMGosh! The instantanious power is just to much. I removed all the punch control just one time, and the truck back flipped over itself and landed back on it's wheels. I know some people do this on purpose, I am not one of them.
After that punch control and expo went all the way to max. It is still just too much power. I race oval track. Dang i just never see more than about 1/16 throttle ever.
Scary truck, it really could use a wider footprint on those turns. Sway bar is comming. Shock springs with twice the rate also comming as well as progressive rockers for the shocks. We will see what that does. Stock from the factory my back end has never come back up, once it was compressed. Now I have the rear shock springs as tight as they will go and it just barely comes up to level. I have over $1500.00 into this conversion and still climbing. If I cant beat this body roll thing, we will have to pull what we can and trash the chassis. Maybe these wider wheels will do the trik. The extra traction scares me though.
