Best Wheel/Tire Combo?

So after just a handful of runs, I'm noticing the stock rubber is starting to pull away from the rim.

Is this normal? Can I re-glue them?

Not racing the Revo, mostly loose dirt bashing. What sort of set up should I look for?

Seems like a lot put the PE style wheel/tire combo, but the look leaves me less then inspired.

What are some other options that give good traction, but still look good?

A friend of mine has good results with either the CrimeFighters or the BowTies, both ProLine. Not sure about the rims though... that's probably mostly personal preference anyway apart from the offset.

For bashing I loved the Losi Zombiemaxxes. They held up well and had great traction on all surfaces including asphalt. That will probably be my next tire when the stockers wear out.:)

The stock Traxxas Talon tires are very soft they don't last very long especially if you bash on concrete alot. I have over $600 invested in different tires and wheel for my R/C collection. I really like the Losi Zombie tires. The Proline Badlands and Mulchers are also a good choice. As far as wheel if you want beadlocks get the Titanium Ti22 wheels they are the best. I just got a set of stock Savage XL tires and they are great for bashing in tall grass and climbing. They give great clearance. They are over 7" tall. The Proline LRP solid black wheel will last for ever but are ugly. I also just got a set of the HPI Phaltline tires and wheels WOW these work awesome on concrete. In dirt I would get either Zombie's or Badlands. :D

Traxxas 3970r tires are lightweight and have LOTS of grip. They last a long time also. They come standerd on the Traxxas Stadium Max

For bashing there is only 1 tire.. the proline badlands.. they are the best their is for this purpose.. stay away from crimefighters and bowties.. you'll toast them way too quick, they are only good for racing iMO. The badlands will hook up something sick and they'll hold up to some asphalt driving to boot. I would upgrade to 17mm adapters and use 17mm wheels as well, it is an awesome upgrade. I would get the proline dish type tires with the 1/2" offset as well.. the black ones in the photo below are only standard, towers sent the wrong ones and before I noticed I already had a tire glued ;(

For onroad only, there is only 1 tire as well, the HPI Phaltlines.. a truly sick road tire, good for speeds over 70mph

If you do go racing, that is when you will want holeshots, crimefighters or bowties, or a cubic type tire.. these do have the 1/2" offset

I love the mulchers for loose and grass. I plan on trying the badlands next too.

I'm thinking about using Maximizer offset beadlocks this time.

Badlands or Mashers. Fewer people seem to suggest Mashers when someone asks about tyres!


For me, all round Bashing, it's got to be either Mashers or Badlands.

Put on my badlands and velocity dish offsets from my nitro revo onto the e-revo today and they worked great (already new that from the nitro but still was impressed). I also have a set of LPR bow ties on Jconcept Rulux offests but haven't had a chance to try them out yet.
I didn't even run the stock talons...they were the very first thing I took off. Sold them on this forum along with the aluminum hexes within a day. I now have a few more $$$ to put towards a brushless setup.
