View Full Version : Capacitors on motors

I picked up a couple of these cheap motors (http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/DCM-267/search/DC_MOTOR,_3-24_VDC_.html) to run with the MMM in lieu of the Titans and EVX2. Do I need to solder caps to the motor leads as ther are on the stock motors? If so, which ones?

I would. They're there to keep "noise" down so there wont be as much interference. They do not effect performance.

What caps do I need? I've read .1uf and .01uf... Are they polarized? If so, how should they be oriented?

Either one will work and they are not polarized. Should be good to go. The ones i have only say 503 on them.

Will those motors be better than a titan?

I'm not expecting them to be any better, just sufficient as a backup.
