well your mm will pretty much only take 12 cells unless your lucky and can get 14 to arm, The kv of the 8xl is 2084 so you will be spinning at 30k rpm with 14.4v

Im running a 7XL in my 3906 E Maxx with 2 SPC 6 cell packs in series (I had 7 cells and ended up taking 2 cells out so the MM would arm) with either a 64 or 66 spur and 22 pinion. The thing FLIES (GPS at like 43 so far) and will wheelie at 25-30 MPH. This is really silly power. Run times are EXCELLENT, like 15 to 20 mins. hard bashing, street and grass. Heat is not a real issue yet but its still cold here in MA. Motor saw 170 dF, ESC 140 dF, batts were cold! I used the 7XL for a bit more speed over the 8XL but may eventually run into heat issues???

Thats the rumor, you may run into heat issue with the 8xl too, keep it geared well, adjust as necessary, good ventilation, holes in the body, fans heat sinks etc. Should last ya, run 'er till shes done.
