how much can the ez starter motor just the motor handel alone like 6 volts???????

It is designed to handle 7.2 volts. The control box is just a switch for the motor. There is a step down resistor that limits current to the plug to about 1.9 volts.

Sorry thumper, i thought you meant the whole thing, the motor, i have one like it, not the ez start, and hooked it up to a 12volt car batt. it was so cool. if it were hooked up to an electric rc, it would go 100MPH, but it only lasted like 15 seconds, then sparks flew from the inside and started smoking, then froze up all the way, couldn't turn it with a pair of pliars. so i'm no for sure. had to share my story.

7.2 volt battery is all that will work.
