i take it your jato is a 2.5r seeing your tag name...but if you had the blue single chamber resonator exhaust pipe that comes stock on the 3.3 you can drill out the stinger (small tube where the exhaust comes out at) to 13/64ths an inch witch will increase performance better than just @ any tuned pipe out there...also RPM a-arms & front bumper...they are lighter than stock and VERY durable...others here will also mention ditching the east start and go to either roto start or bump start (starter box)...and you can also do jato75's gear mod...search the jato forum for it...or you can get revo gears...look on this thread and for the 16th post from jato75 for the links to buy the revo gears from tower hobbies here (*also there is a link to the roto start in that post*)...

For acceleration you can get the Traxxas CVD drive shafts (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKMM0&P=ML). These cut down on rotational mass making the truck accelerate faster. You can also get the Resonator Single Chamber Pipe (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKMB9&P=7).
For top speed you can get the Resonator Dual Chamber Pipe (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKMC1&P=7)
For all around upgrades I would get the Aluminum Upgraded Chassis (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLTW7&P=7), a pull starter (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDGG4&P=OW), and, as suggested I would get the RPM Front (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLXB2&P=7) and Rear (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLYC3&P=M) a-arms along with the Wide Front Bumper (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMAH7&P=M) for added strength

thanks alot. im thinking about the pull start. are they easy to install. ive never really taken the jato apart
Very simple.
1 Take the four engine screws out
2 Pop off the ball cup from the carb
3 Remove the 2 exhaust screws
4 Remove the Ezstart screws.
5 Take owb (one way bearing) out of the Ezstart and put it into the pull start
6 Put everything back together and have fun
You can also look at the Exploded views (http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitro/jato/trx_jato_viewsII.htm) for more info.
