I know there is a 10:00am start time but for me, sometime shortly after noon is looking good for me. Gotta send out some parts to a UK buyer.

I will be bringing all the trucks in my sig. And I'm already excited. :D

Don't worry about it. I haven't recieved anybody's yet. I figured it would go on the back burner until after the first of the year anyway. The next few month's are going to be crazy for me. I'm back in Dallas at the end of the week, so I'll have to bow out of anything this weekend. It seems like I'll almost be on the go constantly until after the holidays. I HAVE to get that house sold in Dallas, it's a huge drain on finances. On top of that we're going to have visitors for all the holidays and wouldn't you know it, my work load is picking up, so overtime is going to be in order. <_<

I started to watch the video taken at the 1STAQCBBBQB (heehee) and we got some good footage. I only screened about half of it. Tink wants to try out the new mac on editing it up, and will post it as soon as she is done ( I will prob have to get some kindling under her chair, lol). I agree it was a great day, I cant believe still nothing broke for me(cept another exhaust coupler, made a new hanger off the bumper so hopefully that stops), and seems only minor damage to others, nothing that couldnt be fixed on the spot.

One thing I noticed in going through the pictures was how well that "freight" stays planted through the turns. Even when turning in under power, both front tires are flat on the dirt. In most of the pictures I've taken across the last months, you don't see that.

BTW with the Jato you are officially over the line and into "addicted" status.

And I finally got your messed cleaned up Cajun, erm uh, I mean I got new front shocks mounted and all the oil cleaned from the front of my Rustler. Yeah, yeah........that's it. :p It's seem's like it isnt a decent bash unless our trucks collide in some fashion these last few meetings. The circus stunt over the ramps would have surely sent parts flying & trucks dying. if contact prevailed in mid-air.

Sure did look good though, huh?

Do you think the problem is with the servo arm? Plastic composite is just not strong enough? Did you get that front CVD figured out? I'm not sure what would be next down the line to go for you.

Now I have a 5955tg servo, Aluminum servo horn, Gen IV bell cranks, Traxxas red 7075 tube turnbuckles and Revo knuckles. You'd think that was tough enough to stay together.

Did you get that front CVD figured out?

Yeah, I think my pivot balls are backing out of my a-arms. I need to replace them anyway. I've even got 2 brand new sets still in the pack. Maybe I'll install them in the next couple of days.

I think I'm gonna get a couple of spare Prolines off Fleabay and just keep it that way. I was thinking about a UE, but after all the problems you're having, I'm gonna re-think it. I've broken the steering arm on the Proline, but no bearing problems at all in 8 months. I definitely don't have to clean and lube them after every run. That's kind of ridiculous in my opinion.

Thanks macr0w.

Yup, I just did it. I went out right after I mentioned getting a body on Saturday, a few post above. Then I fitted it, sprayed a couple colors on Saturday night. Sprayed the windows and backed everything up with black on Sunday morning. Finished trimming & stickered her up during Sunday ballgames/race.

RC Shocker

I was so close to doing it silver/black but changed my mine at the last minute. And I did not like the yellow at first. That's another reason I backed the body in black.

The layout of the "Crowd Pleaser" body is a little bit tougher to trim & mask but once I got it completed I was a little more happy with it. That's a 3.3 body being used to fit my extended E-Maxx.

I had thought about laying out graphics that read "Beat Me" on it. But didnt want to take the time (reversing letters) to do it for a "Beater/Bash" body.

I got a GenIV steering kit on it's way too.

Thanks again for the "Killa" props. :)

Have any of you signed up for the P.A.R.T.S review in RC Driver magazine? They send you parts to test and write a short review for their column. I signed up about a month ago and got a RPM rear shock tower out of it. Watch for my review in a future issue ;)

To signup, send an email to editors@rcdriver.com with PARTS in the subject line. Send them your name, contact information, a list of cars that you own, and a description of why you should be a reviewer. They also want you to own a digital camera, so mention that as well.

I had thought you were talking about racing 1:1 touring cars. I have some friends that used to race touring & oval a few years ago at The Grove before I was in the hobby and still paintballing.

So you are gonna be at The Grove on Saturday? I might head down that way for a bit this weekend.

Hey macrow, your guess is as good as mine for a spot to bash this weekend. Not hearing from the other guys much yet either. I know some of the guys are pretty busy with family stuff too.

I could run the VXL but she'd need track rubber. I think I'm more in for a good bash with the Rustler & maybe the Revo. Although I really wanna race !!!!

That's really close to my house, and I tried unsuccessfully to bash there a while back. The GC chased me off, but that was before school started, I guess he was afraid I was going to steal some dirt or something. I can take another look now that it's open for business.

Im in crooked Creek Estates right off of Sardis Church road. The main drag is sustar lane. The entrance to the nieghbor hood is about 300 yards from sardis elementary. So if you are coming from hwy 74 going towards monroe you would turn left at the intersection of Sardis church rd (its the one right before Dale Jarrett) go about a mile the neighborhood is on the right. Brand new houses can t miss it. Come in the street and stay on it until it runs into a dead end. the field area is about 35 to 40 acres. I will be out there around 11am until I run out of gas or break something major. If anyone wants to join me you are welcome. Again I will have a table etc set up for tinkering. Sorry for so many questions Chris? ;)

Only about 6 months this time around. I had some Tamiya cars when I was a kid, I used to race 1/12 scale on road about 20 years ago, then raced 1/10 oval again about 7-8 years ago. I decided to give up racing and get back to having some fun.

I am anxious to get the Stampede back running, but I think I'm going to just get the FLM extended chassis rather than replace the plastic one. I have the VXL system in my Rustler now, so I'm alright with that.

I have a Maxamps 3s 5000 battery pack and the Hyperion 5i charger - the charger is the AC/DC version so I don't need a power supply. I used to have a nice one when I was racing oval and my charger was DC only, but I sold it with all my other gear. Took a beating on the resale as usual.

Yeah, I feel bad knowing I was helping with the tuning, but he always took great care of it, had good smoke trail, temps, and did after run and never left fuel in it. I dont do near (ok ok none) that. I never drain my fuel from the tank or lines, after run oil is only when I am building a motor, and with the backflips, I am deffinately over reving it. Wow, I dont feel so bad now. With me mis-treating my motors and they run for 5 plus gallons, it couldnt have been my help, had to be motor related.

Cajun
11-13-2007, 05:06 PM
I'm gonna try your method on the nest one. I'm gonna lay it in a box of sand with no air filter for the break in, then drop it in my F150 for a week. Should run for 40 gallons then. No reason to feel bad, you gave me some good advice. This is just how my luck has been with nitro so far. I'll get the hang of it, I refuse to give up. Electric is too easy, I'll probably always have a nitro of some sort, makes life interesting. :D

grats on the jato. Have you ever driven one? I just got one not to long ago too, only bought it cuz it was pretty cheap with a few upgrades and a spektrum dx3 transmitter. Its crazy fast!! I just broke in a new motor for it and ended up blowing out the tranny, and I havent gotten it fixed yet. They arent the greatest off-road truck (with what we were in), but a real blast on-road and smooth dirt. Deff make sure you are using a zip-tie on the air filter neck, they have a tendency to pop off the carb.

Well I have not hit the nitro tuning bump just yet, but I can not decide whether or not to stay nitro or BL with my ONLY nitro truck.

On one hand, I've thought about trading in the 2.5R for a 3.3 thru Traxxas for $130 and stay nitro. Maybe stretch the chassis to a 3.3 (WooHoo, $20)

Or, take apart this neat little truck and go BL. The Techno BL conversion alone is $150. But really no matter how I slice it, I'm gonna be in, out, whatever at least 500 smack a roo's.

I'd like to get out somewhere that's cool enough for everyone to have some fun.

I think I'm going to play a round of diskgolf 1st thing in the morning. Probably about 9:00 or so. The disk course up here at Kilbourne would be an awesome place to run my truck. If it weren't for all the golfers. :D

Hey guys (and gals),

Just thought I'd drop in. I can't believe how many people are in the Charlotte area.

I live in Mint Hill. One of my bodyshops is in Indian Trail (behind Brother's foreign car right off Independence) and the other is in Monroe.

I mention the Monroe shop because it's the old Dale Jarrett Ford building and the parking lot is 7 acres.

Lots of pavement, no real dirt or grass (a little) but if you're looking for flat out pavement, there's LOTS of it.

Anyway, next little while with holidays might make it tough but I'm for trying to get together.

And Cajun, whatcha ridin? I just finished this at the beginning of summer.

That's exactly right! :D I rode from New Orleans to Seattle once for king crab. I think that's the longest "whim" ride I've ever done.

Maybe between Turkey Day and Christmas, we can do a day ride. There's got to be several toy runs going on before Christmas, maybe we can hit one of those.
