View Full Version : The motor died...

Man oh man... This truck lol. The motor just went out on me. I was driving and then it just stopped. I checked the ESC and it was fine. I tried a different motor and it worked. This stinks! I go out for a nice run with the easy to drive Sledge Hammer and what do I get... More problems. That was like its tenth run too. I sent an e-mail to Traxxas, but I am not expecting anything in return. I pretty much just asked them if these trucks had these issues back in the day.

Thats too bad...I don't know exactly when Traxxas started making the Stinger but that motor could have been one of the early ones that might have had problems that Traxxas later fixed. The Stinger that I have had for more than a year is still running fine. Since Stingers aren't that expensive, you might just want to buy a new one or you could just go ahead and get that 19 turn Orion motor.

Yeah... I think they were made around when my truck came out. I bet I have one of the trucks from one of the first batches with the Stingers. I have a ten year old stinger lol out of my dads Stampede. I was thinking about getting an Orion, but I would like to keep the parts on this truck as time specific as I can so we'll see. I might just plop another Stinger in there. The truck runs pretty well for a stocker with a stinger IMO. If I want to go fast I just bring out the Rustler :) .

Dang thats whack. Maybe its becouse it was getting hotter than a usual stinger.

Yeah... That truck lol. First the body, then the roll pin, then the servo, and now the motor. Will it ever end :fear: (horry move music playing in background). Lol... It's part of the hobby I guess.
If it matters any it happened after I landed a jump.

Lol thats funny you should take a dremel to it and see whats wrong with it.Is it starting to remeind you of the emaxx?

DON'T SAY THAT!!!!! Lol... No, it's not like my E-Maxx and it will not be. Happy place, happy place... Lol j/k .
Nah... Once I get a motor that will actually last in there I should be fine.

Not to get off topic but whats wrong with your maxx?

The problems that I know about are:
1) Both motors are smoked
2) New pinions
3) New Slipper clutch
4) Center CVD's keep loosing pins... I'm going to make some Revo centers fit
I think that's it. For now anyway lol. I'm running a stock center in the rear with all other CVD's right now because of the CVD pin. I have a bunch of old Titan motors that kind of work. I just need the small parts. I also have to get that darn pinion off from one of the motors. My hex driver's tip broke off in it...

get a magnet and pull the hex tip out.

I dont think it will be that easy. Cooleo you have the worst time with your trucks right now.Its just gonna be one day that it all comes together.

Lol...Yeah... I'll get them going some time. My Mini Quake, Stampede, Rustler, and Villain are pretty relaible.
