My nitro Rustler isn't getting power to the rear wheels.
The big gear is turning, and the wheels spin when the car is lifted.
I'm thinking planetary gear or differential gear.
what can cause this? Can it be fixsd w/o replacement?

Ok, there are many things that could be wrong here...more than likely you will have to replace something, but it should only be a few bucks.
1.) Check your slipper and make sure it is tight
2.) Take the gear box apart and inspect idler gear and diff gear and pull it apart and inspect the the planetary gears with in it.
3.) Depending on what motor you have in your truck, pro .15 or 2.5, the trucks used to no come with output shafts that allow a pin all the way through. If so, then tighen up the set screws and look to see if they have stripped the output shaft, then replace them with the new style.
4.) Check to make sure that your little pins are in the rear axle that hold the rear wheel. If you have lost one, cutting off the flat part of a body clip will work fine. Cut for the correct length and away you go.
Hope this helps.
