WEll your not going to have as much play with them as in the half shafts ( stock ). But for the price 35.00 unless you have random maney laying around there not nescessary.

IMO, ever since the newer style output shafts began to be used on the Pede, there are no advantages to running CVD's.
Disadvantages would be:
-cost
-slightly decreased suspension travel
-different size wheel nuts from stock
-the need for precautionary modifications to be done to prevent them from simply falling apart.

What year did the newer style output shafts start being used?

As long as your output yokes and axles are not worn you wont have any "play".
So what he meens is with a CVD the pin that holds the axle too the shaft is a lot tighter tolerences, which meens less driveline slop.
Basically unless your running high high power BL systems and or racing, you dont need them.

...i want an allternative to the annoying output yolks Then CVD's are definitely not for you. If you can't handle a stock yoke, you definitely would have fits assembling a CVD joint.
In regard to the yokes, use the right tool for the job & make sure you are prying on the universal ball in the right direction.
