View Full Version : Nice day, bad servo screw

its a great day up here in WI. i got off work at 1 and got outside. it is an amazing 50F up here. i got the revo out and it was running great. alot better than it ran when it was high 30's. its really the first time ive had it out running really well since i broke the OSTM in. I have stock gearing and it was lifting the front off quite a lot. the rear springs are not too stiff but any more loose and it would sag too much under acceleration. For anyone else who is up here enjoying the heat wave have fun. it was nice to get outside in a sweetshirt and get a good couple of tanks in.
i did have one problem though. i lost the screw out of the stearing servo (airtronics 94359z). is it a good idea to put a little thread lock on it? i seem to have this problem often and was wondering what i could do about it.

My HiTec servos came with a little star washer that keeps the screw in place. I haven't had a problem with the screw coming loose yet (and I've used this servo in several vehicles over the years).
So I'd suggest going to a hardware store and getting this type of washer....but thread lock would probably work OK, as long as you used very little. Personally, I'd be afraid that the screw would get glued in there so tight that I'd strip it when I went to remove it.

Wow. I went to UW-Madison, and I don't think that in the 4 years I was there, that there was a January in which there was no snow. It made for great snow MTB'ing, though. :)
Madison is an awesome town.
Go Badgers, and we'll miss Barry!
