Hi i have a question. when i turn the wheels to the right they go fast and smooth but when i turn them to the left they kinda shutter and go slow. the batteries are new. is this normal? i dont think it is. Thanks in advance!:)

disconnect your servo saver off the servo and make sure your steering is smooth both ways. if its ok id say its time for a new servo. how old is it?

Its about a year and a half i think. i took off the saver and the servo is smooth but when i put it back on same thing! i read that post but im a little confused what is it binding on ? And when i turn left the left wheel turns farther than the right and one of the rod ends almost comes in conntact with the a arm!!! im so confused! lol:confused:

The reason it turns further to one side is because you don't have the servo centered when the wheels are in the center. If you center the wheels and look at the position of the servo saver you may notice that it's off center slightly. Because of the way it turns it can move the bellcrank more in one direction.

everything seems to be centered it just throws farther to the left.
but i stil dont know why it shutters !:(
*update i just found out that it doesnt just shudder from center to left but it does it even if i go to the right then turn left!!:o i think i may need a new servo!!!:(

lower grade servos will wear out, and if used in high dirt conditions will cause them to fail quicker

so how do i now if it is worn out ? it still turns right fast and smooth as new!

you said its shutters (glitching) a sign of being worn out or once submerge in mud or water.
In short if its giving your problems you should get it fixed (if the maker does repair there products) or replace it

i dont think it is glitching i think it is bindidng on somthing i just cant find what it work perfect one way just not the other and if i pick it up off the ground it isnt as bad. and it has never been in mud or water

I just bought a brand new 2.5 Rustler and see this stutter as well, I'm going to upgrade to RC-parts bellcranks to try and remedy it...I think its the fact the stock ones use bushings and its not as smooth.
But yeah...its not a servo problem, my Rustler is brand new.

this is just my opinion.... any stock servo is a problem

what servo do you recommend then? i have somehow broken the throttle servo on mine where the screws attach to the chassis. was wondering what would be a good replacement.

Futaba S9457 for steering http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXCTS2
Futaba S3010 for throttle...little more torque than stock for braking http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDTB3&P=7

Personally I'm going to recommend the Hitec Metal Gear line of servos. Hitec makes great quality servos and the metal geared version have excellent durability. Since most (not all) of the internal gears are made of metal instead of plastic, they wont strip during high stress. Also they have servos for both speed and torque.
As a steering servo I recommend the HS 645MG (high torque servo):

As a throttle servo I reccoment the HS 625MG (high speed servo):
