Greetings
I'm thinking of selling my Revo and getting a Jato .
What wont the Jato be able to do that the Revo can... ( apart from reverse and 4wd and mayby wheelies).
I do like my Revo but i'd like more power and i need new wheels and tyres and a body, but the cost of these is probly gonna be more than a brand new Jato..
And i like the look of the Jato, it has many plus's i like ....:)

I'd just keep the Revo and get the Jato, but other than that it is up to you man.

Well, you say the Jato has "plus's" that you like, but ultimately, many of the Jato's things were based off the Revo.
Also, about more power, the Jato (as far as I know) only has the TRX 2.5, not the 2.5R. It also doesn't got the blue cooling head. The 2.5R has special porting and stuff (gives it more power) and the blue cooling head provides cooler and more consistent running. There is a different because i have a T-Maxx and a Revo, before, my Revo smoked my Maxx, but i dropped a 2.5R in my Maxx and now it keeps up quite well. So, actually, the Revo probably has more power (but not top speed).
As for the cost...Brand new Jato - at least like 320 bucks. 2 pairs of tires (stock ones pre mounted) and a stock body for your Revo - maybe a little over 100 bucks. Smoking your friends - priceless. :D
And on top of that, you can probably get tires and a body for even less if you look around.
So, theres no way a Jato will be less that new tires and a body.
If i were you, keep the Revo, and just save up and buy a Jato later when the price drops.

The ONLY diff between the R and non-R is the blue cooling head.
The JATO includes the "R" without the blue head. (as there is really no non-R engines anymore)
They wern't always the same, but the current production 2.5's all have the same porting that the R has.
Atleast thats what traxxas wants us to believe :D

Keep the revo and get a bigger shelf. The revo won't care if you share your love with another!! :D

Just get the Jato without selling the Revo.
I have a Rustler 2.5 and a Savage and i'm still getting the Jato because superfast stadium trucking is just fun. But when i want more offroading i use my Savage.

Ok thanks for the replys
BUT, i cant aford both and have no space to two trucks..so thats why..
Also cost of new engine (RB323) New tyres and wheels, and new shell is about £260 ,, aNew Jato will be around £240-ish...
So guys, no-one has realy answered the original question...

the jato will be able to go fast on pretty much flat terrain.
the revo can go over giant boulders and do tripple front filps 20 feet in the air and land it like its nothing(at least mine can....)
so your choise but me im keeping my revo.

im just asuming a stadium truck thats light nuff to make it go 15mph faster then the revo isnt going to hold up to huge jumping as good.
im sure it can still jump to some extent though.
I would keep the revo and get a bigger motor if you want more power.

You basicly answered your own question...
The main thing it wont be able to do is reverse and 4wd, and everything that comes from not having those.
the jato should do wheelies very easily, so much so that it will probably get in the way (that is, if you use the rear battery holder).
If you mainly drive on flat low grass, dirt, or alike you'll probably like the jato better. If the grass is tall, or you like bumps and jumps and rocks the revo is what you want.
IMHO I'd fix your REVO (hopups where you can) and replace the engine with something larger LIKE THIS (http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg2112.html)

i hate when people ask questions like this:( . its like asking should i get a lifted jeep on 44's, or an s10 on bags... these are two completly diffrent trucks. like BlitzK said it depends on what you run on, and where. MT's are fun for like "offroading" but if you want to go fast, get there quick, and still handle like a car, an ST like the jato is the way to go. and the reason the jato does not have reverse, is because it does not need it. They can turn 2x better than a revo can. it just depends on what you like.;)

well, see, i didnt know you lived in the UK, and apparently, replacement parts cost ALOT there... and i missed the fact you needed a new engine too. I dont know about you, but a new engine, tires, and body would be like $200 USD...but, you should check ebay, i got the 2.5R (with cooling head and carb) for like 90, thats including shipping. Lately, I have seen some go fore less. But does traxxas offer the lifetime engine replacement plan in the uk? how much is it for you?
But as a bunch of people have said before...yes, it does depend on where you drive and how you drive...
If your launching off HUGE jumps and going totally insane offroad...keep the Revo...
If your in to fast action on a relatively flat area, like a field, or a track, get a Jato.
Though the Jato is most likely capable of landing somewhat big jumps because of its class leading suspension travel (according to good ole Traxxas). But in the end, its a stadium truck.
And as to the reason no one has really answered your original question is that the only person that can really answer is well, you. We are just giving you are opinions and advice to HELP you choose (at least i am).

OK Guys agian thanks to all of you for the help, i do appriciate y'all's time.
RusRacer05 Yes i did think from reading that u were cussing me... like a dog, but then u gave advice and i was confused ( like punch me in the face, then help me to get up  )
CrisisAngel Yea they do do the Life-replacement engine, i think its £65-ish.
But i dont want another 2.5r if i keep the Revo, its a good engine but for me with the size\weight of Revo i'd like something bigger (like RB323TM).
I must admit that i'm supprizzed @ how many ppl are telling me to keep Eye-Revo, I was gonna post this in the Revo section but thought "naa they will all cus me say bla bla bla " but in here many of you are still saying keep it, hmm
I do know these are two diff types of trucks, i was just trying to get a feel of what i would miss if i got the Jato ..
I'm still not sure what i'm gonna do, The Jato seems like it would suit me, (it will do wheelies ??? W0W! )but so does the Revo, and looking at it now after compleatly stripping it down, cleaning, then rebuilding it, it just looks so cool, sitting there wating for an RB an shell or to hear if its gonna get cast away and sold....
Hmm decisions decisions

Hmm...so you want something other than a 2.5R, well...there are a few I can suggest:
Os .18TM for the Revo is a direct fit, comes with everthing u need, costs about 200 in the US.
This is somewhat 2.5R'ish (if im allowed to create that word), but Sirio makes custom engine internals for the TRX 2.5 and it supposedly has way more power (according to RC car action). I think its about 100 USD, but you have to rebuild the engine yourself. Or you can get a big block conversion kit, and drop a huge mill in :D
Also, just to help u save some bucks, on Ebay, you can get a full set of Stock revo tires for around 50 bucks, and a body for about 30, this is in USD though, so it might be different for you.
Anyways, hopes this helps.

Ok CrisisAngel, i have said a few time that if i get a new engine that it will be the RB... http://www.rbproducts.com/mainEn.php?part=Products&AR_Stat04=RB%20CONCEPT&GProduit=E01901-323000/R
How come it wasn't in ur list ???

i must have missed the fact you wanted that engine...
yup...i guess getting your revo back to working order with the engine you want would be as much as a Jato...
now i really dont know...so the choice is now totally up to you, since money factor is about the same...its a new truck, or making your old truck new agian (sorta) and better
So, the choice is yours...if i were you, i would keep the revo (like i said in my last posts). The Revo has so much more to offer (in my opinion) - Not to bash the Jato, cause im thinking bout getting one myself :D But the only thing the jato has in my mind is an extra 15 mph on its top speed and wieghs about half of what the revo does (stock at least).
with the revo, you can trim it for the track, or drop the LT on for insane off road and rock crawling, so it can do so much more in one package...
but like i said, the choice is yours

Id say keep the REVO. The speed is nice but with a bigger engine, you should be MORE than happy with the REVO. Also, take into consideration anything you bought for the REVO. That would add up how much youve invested into the REVO, and anything that might not fit the REVO, would be a loss. SInce no one really knows, theres no way to compare the durability of the two, although common sense would lead one to believe that the REVO, being built for racing and bashing, would hold up better. That being said, there are those that bash with Rusties, so its not a real guarantee that the JATO would be that much weaker. Either way I think you would be happy, but as many have said before, let your driving be the judge. If your strictly racing, Id say go for the JATO, but if you bash some of or all of the time, hold off untill you know how the JATO will hold up. Id hate to see someone ditch a perfectly good truck, buy the new one, just to regret the action, and have to sell the new truck (more than likely at a loss, in this case a further loss) to try and get another REVO. Just take your time and observe the postings as people as they post on there new JATO, and dont get into the initiall hype, EVERYONE will be sceaming how hot this truck is initially, THEN the troubles will start to arise. HTH, and either way, have fun! :D

I say Scrap the Revo, Buy a Savage and a Jato and Call it a Day. :D But thats MO
Every Revo I've seen breaks quickly, like a twig, maybe all you guys have had better luck, but I've driven both. Haven't bought a Revo, but thats because everytime we go bashing everyone is wrenching their Revos at the field and or carrying them out with wheels hanging off after the day is said and done. (while I'm driving out my Savvy back to my car) but like I said IMO..
Sell the Revo, get a savage, and a Jato :D and call it a day.
If you don't have the funds, since I know buying R/C in the UK is relatively expensive, I'd just keep what you have and save up for the Jato.

Many £'s spent there...
Seeing as it was of the road for so long while i was rebuilding and cleaning it, it made me realise how much i missed it, sorry, i ment missed Her.
I stil like the Jato and MAY get one in the far future if £'s are flowing and can find some space.
Cheers for all of ur inputs :D
