Just find a self propeled lawn mower then all u gotta do is hook up the steering.
If u cant find a whole self propeled mower look for a mower engine with a pto on it to power the rear drive wheels.

i was thinking of doing that but i wanted it to go different speeds bcuz all the self propelled mowers iv seen they all got one speed and u hav to pull the lever back for it to go. how could i make that be able to be pulled back by a servo

That wasnt a sentence.
Your better off buying a riding lawn mower...itll pay for itself by the end of the summer if you use it.

I didn't read most of the original because run-on sentences are one of my pet peeves. I got the point though.
DONT OVERRIDE THE GOVERNOR! If you spin the blades too fast they can EXPLODE. Got it?
Don't use a 2 stroke, buying premix will kill you. (gas costs enough already!)
Don't use anything expensive, its likely to crash.
Use a failsafe to avoid big lawsuits after someone gets killed.
