That, my friend, is called "cogging". It's the one downfall of sensorless bl systems. It's one major reason why many people choose the sensored HV-maxx over the 9918+whatever combo.
With that said, my 9918+9L cogs so minimally that I can rock crawl with it, so long as I have it geared low for rock crawling. If you overgear it, or gear it high, that's when our friend, Mr. Cog, rears his ugly head. If you gear it somewhere in the middle, it will only cog for less than the blink of an eye.
So ..... what's your gearing and which motor are you running? Also, what is your tire size?
1. what motor are you running
2. on how many cells
3. what gearing
4. are you using an rx pack or external BEC
5. do you have the black internal BEC jumper removed?
after the two second delay does it run completely normal or do you have to ease on to the throttle even at speed to keep it from stalling.

Can you post a picture of your setup please?

i have a 5 cell reciver battery pack
i run a xl 3100 motor
12 matced intergy cell
gearing is 14/66
i have the big joe tirers
to start off sometimes i have to pump the throttle to get it going .
other times it will work fine. and yea i removed the black plug in back off the bec.
how do i get ride of "cogging"

i know its not the motor b/c i have tried two fo them i thinki might just be a bad bec.
try this and see what happens. when i first installed the 9918 to my 8L, it did the same thing but with more bad symptoms. try running it without the rx pack and install the internal BEC jumper. mine wouldn't work with my ext. BEC or receiver pack. i tried 3 different radios and finally decided to try the internal BEC and it worked fine after 2 hours of cussing. i still want to run an ext. BEC and i'm waiting to see if i can run it with the jumper installed too. the 9918 instructions say it can be done but i'm waiting for "official" word. i've been racing my setup with the internal BEC and it has been running cool and smooth. once again the severely over used word cogging comes up, unless the big joe's are causing overgearing, cogging isn't the case. you might try stock tires first. i have mine locked into second gear geared 16/72 and i can crawl over the pipes at the track with total smoothness. i don't know much about your motor though, but i would assume that it should run smoother than my feigao.
good luck, jack

Take the big joes off and it will help a ton. Its a common problem, more so with certain ESC's. The more voltage, the less cogging. There is nothing wrong with your set up, its just part of BL.

i rather live with the cogging thean throw $40.00 in rims away $60.00 in tires and another $40.00 for a pair of sppiners. Thanks anyway i try an add 4 cell witch will give 16 cells in total.

gearing lower reduces cogging
