Hi. The Novak Millenium is a DC charger, which means you'll need a car battery. If you're going to be at the track, this is fine. However, if you plan on just driving around the backyard, a cheap peak charger will work fine. In the 40-50 dollar range Dynamite, MRC, and Duratrax all have great chargers.
3000 NiMh batteries need special chargers. the Novak Millenium is one of just a handful that will charge a NiMh battery. The above cheap, but good chargers I listed will not charge a NiMh battery. The reason is that by the time you feel the batteries getting warm, it will be too late and the battery will be ruined. Also, inexpensive chargers look for a much higher volatage drop than do the expensive NiMh compatible chargers.

i agree with CHASE get a cheap peak charger they ease battery charging considerably, i would also use either the current 2000 or 2400 mah packs currently on the market until more chargers that can handle the nimh batteries become available.
