Looking for a general use bashing battery pack for my stampede, i can get a fairly good deal on racers edge 1800 mah battery packs, any thoughts? Something better? Looking for something fairly cheap, but good quality.

The best cells out there right now are GP3300's. I would go for a pack or two of those. You can buy matched, high-performance packs at places like www.promatchracing.com . I would go with GP3300's because they're powerful and high-capacity. You could probably find cheaper (but not as fast) packs at places like www.towerhobbies.com

What kind of charger do you have?
How much are you looking to spend on a battery pack?

cheap hobbico charger..
dont even bother with racers edge packs:mad: i wasted 200 bucks on those brand of batteries.everytime i charged them they would hiss and vent.the cells in there packs cant handel a fast charge,so unless u have a slow charger(under 1amp)the packs will eat themselfs up.save up and get some gp3300's,they will last u years insted of a mounth like those racers edge packs:mad: every time i go to my LHS someone is returning a racers edge pack.

So im assuming they cost 20-30?? a pack?
What would be a good, effective , inexspensive charger?

duratrax digital pihrana or the mrc super brain 959 are highly recommended...i use the duratrax, doesnt charge as fast as others, but works great...both are $40-50
i ALWAYS suggest ballisticbatteries.com for batteries...they are a lil more expensive but well worth it imo

What do people use at the track to quickly charge the packs? Or do they have several packs and just use what you brought with you?

ballistic batterys (http://www.ballisticbatteries.com/Ballistic_Batteries_Products.cfm)
those are the most popular places to get gp's. ballistic batteries is quite expensive though.

FYI, my super brain 959 false peaks quite easily. Apparently it works fine for some people, but mine does not charge my 2400 packs unless I keep it cool by blowing air on it with a small fan. I doubt it would do any better with GP3300's.

for a reason...they are better than anyone else imo
they also give you more options when building your packs (different types of battery bars and connectors)
