View Full Version : Stalls on full throttle, Don't know why

The title pretty much says it all. Whenever I get my MT12 to full throttle, the truck gets really stuttery, loses speed and eventually (quite rapidly) stalls. This is very frustrating because the engine is already tempermental. I've tried to richen the low speed but there is no change.
One thing I did notice is that the servo is opening the carb up beyond the 'hole' the air filter connects to. I tried adjusting my trim so that it stopped at the edge of the 'hole' (don't know what it's really called) but that just really messed things up. Assistance is appreciated.

Sounds like the HSN is set too lean.

Sounds like you are referring to the carb body.

Trim ffects the centering of a servo. What you need to adjust is the servo endpoints (EPA). You can also alter this by adjusting the servo linkage.

Richening the HSN doesn't make any difference but I will try the epa. Should the carb just open to the edge of the carb body, or should it go as wide as possible.

If riching the HSN doesn't cure a lean condition, I'd start looking for an airleak.
