I havent had my truck out for a few months due to I am into boats and it was taking most of my time.I had my ported pro sleeve pinched and have 10 tanks thru it .I have the hsn set at 3 turns with the outside temp at 75 degrees and this thing would probably fly if it had wings.I have been doing some parking lot running with 68-24 gearing and it flies.I have a fantom 15 ,a megatech 16 ,and mu ported pro ,and the traxxas is my best running and I think the most powerfull of the three.

Wow! Ported, pinched, and that gearing! That thing must RIP! Especially when it's in the 2.5.
Sweet! ^_^ :D

The guys company is Ray Aracing products .One sleeve is 15.00,2 for 25.00and 3 for 35.00 .The shipping is 4.00 .I did two engines ,and was pleased with the work.He is located in buffalo N.Y. .The turnaround is very fast also.My engine has all kinds of power .With lower gearing ,it wheelies like crazy.I put boca race bearings and a torque tuned pipe .I also run an mip pipe from time to time.

I never remeber exactly. What does pinching the sleeve do and what are the pros/cons?
PS, 2000 posts, w00t w00t!!

Dose it involve putting it in between your fingers and squezing?

Ha ha, I dont think so. I think they use some sort of machine, but I'm not exactly sure.

basically, if your sleeve is worn out and does go to TPC with the piston then what you do is send that in to get it "pinched"
meaning the person puts back the taper the sleeve originally had and its like having a brand new sleeve...
DRKDAD22- I think that he has the traxxas pro .15 not the 2.5 :D

Ha ha, yea he said it's a Pro. I dont see half the things in these posts, even though I read the whole post, lol.

Yes !,Its a pro. This engine is a good engine but when you port it ,it brings out the power of this engine.I would love to run with athe nrw 2.5 to compare the power.I am sure the new 2.5 is a monster but I hear it can be finiky .My engine fires right up and never over heats .

Yea, I've heard great things about the ported Pro .15. It makes it a true race engine! The Pro was always super reliable and lasted forever! It was a great engine.

This is how you pinch a sleeve. you could do it yourself if you wanted to buy the tool. they cost about $40 each. (the guy has them for any nitro engine you can think of):) (they are alot bigger then what you see. the hole in the middle is what the sleeve slides into.)

Woa, that's cool. Do they just put the sleeve in there and tighten it down?

prety simple right:)
Here's a link to them. (http://www.affordablenitrotech.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1944) i dont know if you will be able to go to the page or not sence it says for members only. but if your a member of antr then you will have no problem:)

The process seems easy enough. If I wanted it done, I'd still send it to someone who's done a lot of them and has a good reputation.

That looks super cool. When my engine needs to be redone I might try it.
