Yeah, I would say she's good for for at least 35mph after break in and proper tuning. Add a tuned pipe, header and wheel bearings and you'll by going near 40mph!

hey littlebassett,i dont think you know
any thing about speed.it may look like its
going 45-50,and many people will think the same, but its really not going as fast as it looks.go buy a radar gun and clock it, then you will see what im saying.a stock stampede will only top out at 31 mph.it looks alot faster but its not.sorry, nothing against you.

well my n-pede will be a 70mph speed demon when im done with it if i dont break it first. i am currently working on a 3 speed tranny. 1st gear will be:22 tooth clutch gear, 72tooth spur; 2nd gear: 24 tooth clutch, 54 tooth spur;3rd gear: 30 tooth clutch, 45 tooth spur. the only problems i think i might have is the steering servo is kinda twitchy with the stock servo saver, which isnt a good thing for 70mph speeds. another problem area will be getting all the gears to contact in the right area so im thinking of using gears that have a small indent on the sides so you you use belts/chains to connect the spur gears to the clutch gears. i know this sounds unbelievable but when i am done i will have it clocked and i will most likely make an mpeg movie of the run if i can find somebody that has a digital camcorder.another thing that might be wise is to make the chasis lower, while still keeping good ground clearance. i will send pictures of my 2-speed that i have on my truck when i get all the kinks worked out. i would of had it done sooner if i didnt send my parts back to tower hobbies thinking they werent going to work but i found somebody that works in a machine shop and will machine parts for free; all i have to pay for is the metal. you may not beleive a 70 mph n-pede right now but when you see the finished product of what im doing you will beleive it. i do not recommend trying this on your truck unless you can risk a 70mph crash which would undoubtedly destroy your truck. it should be a cool truck when im done.

thanks for helping me prove my point i was
trying to make.some people have no sense of speed.
people just hear something and it sticks in their head and they believe it,if you dont believe me,get a radar gun and check hahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahah

you can get a radar gun,at www.towerhobbies.com (http://www.towerhobbies.com) ,i think.also,a 70 mph pede ,yeah right.you would have to put a .21
engine,54 spur,22 clutch bell, and maybe you could hit 50,if your lucky.think about it,
the 100mph super nitro rs4 had a novarossi and they said it costed 4,500 dollars, and you think your going to ,make a pede that will
go 70 for a few hundred.DREAM ON>dude

The most accurate way to determine the speed of your vehicle is mathematically. Radar guns will vary in accuracy. Here is how:

First you need to measure off a very accurate 100 foot distance and mark it at both ends.
Get a stop watch and a buddy to time your run.
Get your car up to full speed and then time how long it takes to travel the full 100 feet from mark to mark.
Make a lot of runs and take your best time.
Divide 68.18 by your best time to get MPH.

Example --- 1.5 seconds is your best time. 68.18 divided by 1.5 = 45.5 MPH

Have fun! http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/wink.gif

well i did forget to mention what engine ill be running. it will either be an Ofna Delta force p8 2.6 hp motor or an 8 port megatech engine which they rate at 3.0 hp. and if you read my entire post you would see what gears i will be running which would theoretically give me a speed of over 70mph. like i said youll see the pics when i get them. the hpi proceed will do 70mph and costs under 800$ to complete. a n-pede might be a little harder to get to those speeds but i will do it. it wont be much of a nitro pede when im done but it should resemble a n-pede.i am working on a 2 speed duratrax tranny; the 3 speed will follow. i have already tested my n-pede with the 100 foot test and it completed it in 3.3 seconds. this was from a standing start, at full speed entering and leaving the 100 feet it took 1.62 seconds. using the formula, that would translate into 42.08642 mph or 42.1 mph. this is with a n-pede with bearings, mip stinger kit, mip boost bottle, and motor savers air filter, 22 tooth clutch 66 tooth spur. i might of been able to get an even higher speed if my trx pro-15 were freshly broken in, it has 2 gallons run through it in race conditions. i have heard that the trx pro tops out at 32000 rpm, the ofna engine will exceed 35000 rpm. if you still question me about it being possible just wait and i will have pics of me clocking my n-pede at 70+mph when i finish my truck. it is a work in progress, i keep adding more stuff when i get the money.stay tuned

i dont know really how fast they go, but i can barely keep mine on the ground. It goes so fast that the smallest bump sends it flying. FUN
